Cracker Barrel Bails on Phil's Products
TMZ ^ | 12/21/2013 | TMZ Staff

Cracker Barrel has become the first sponsor to cut bait with "Duck Dynasty" ... but not entirely.

The Southern-themed food chain reacted to Phil Robertson's anti-gay comments by removing "selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests" from their stores and restaurants.

We called a bunch of Cracker Barrel stores, and the managers told us the products that were removed were the ones that had Phil's face plastered on the packaging. Almost to a person, the managers added, "We still offer a wide variety of Duck Commander products," and then we heard a click.

C.B. offers this explanation ... "We operate within the ideals of fairness, mutual respect and equal treatment of all people. These ideals are the core of our corporate culture."

I’d say it’s Duck Commander/Realtree selling them through walmart. Has nothing to do with A&E

Interesting that the Robertsons have a separate merchandising deal with Walmart. I think that's great, although lots of folks won't know the difference, and will buy the A&E related merchandise anyway.

Ah well...

This Duck Dynasty/Duck Commander distinction is not germane to the issue.

Cracker Barrel made a conscious decision to align themselves with the shrill sissies by making an “unperson” of Phil Robertson. This is the kind of thing done in totalitarian states, both real (Stalinist Russia) and imagined (1984).

They must be called on it.

I left them an e-mail telling them I would not patronize any of their restaurants until they reverse their decision and make a public apology.

With JCPenney keeping mum on this, they might have learned a lesson.

The Bible and Christianity were declared ‘hate speech’ years ago; you need to catch-up a wee bit.

Phil’s comments about race were not in least bit offensive.

Baloney. Thery removed all shirts and books that have Phil’s face on them. How in the hell is that supportive?

“Cracker Barrel is to Southern cuisine what Olive Garden is to Italian cuisine.”

Brilliant!

I hadn’t heard that detail, just that they were removing DD merchandise and keeping the DC stuff. Financially at least, that does help the Robertsons and hurt A&E.

We don’t know if that’s true, though. Some reports say otherwise.

I just came from CB's site. I saw no Dynasty products so don't know that they ever carried any. The Commander products were on sale. Even Miss Kay's cookbook is half off. There wasn't a Happy, Happy, Happy t-shirt or anything with Phil. As for which side of the argument they're on, since they've pulled all products with Phil on the label, then they're actively against what he said and against Christian morals. I bought that clue and CB won't see me at their door.

Cracker Barrel wants to reassure its gay customers that schnitzengruben is still on the menu.

Phil Robertson was doing business with Wal-Mart before A&E even existed.

I particularly like their breakfast menu. The folks there are friendly and “down home.”

However, I choose to refrain from spending my dollars there as the result of their actions. At least they will experience some economic consequence to their anti-Christian bigotry.

I called a local CB. THE MANAGER SAYS THAT IT IS NOT TRUE.
I’m still checking.
