The Robertson family released a statement Thursday night in response to the A&E network's decision to suspend patriarch Phil Robertson over comments the family patriarch made to GQ Magazine on homosexuality:
"We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phil's unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart" and "Love your neighbor as yourself." Phil would never incite or encourage hate.We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right.We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family."

You know the details of their contract with A&E? There are always “outs”, it ain’t slavery.
The Robertsons are not the same yokels as the idiots on Storage Wars or Being Sea Gold, they were successful business people before A&E came along.

Phil said himself in an interview a few weeks ago he felt the show was unlikely to run more than 4-5 seasons.

Everything is not about Constitutional rights. The Constitution exists to define how we interrelate with the government we created. Remember, our rights are given to us by God. No human has the right to take those away.
What we are dealing with here is attempted cultural tyranny. We have not lost any right to speak, but too many Americans have silenced themselves because of cowardice.
It’s as simple with dealing with a schoolyard bully. We need to stand up to those who threaten us, or we give them our power.

Freedom not exercised is freedom lost. Remain silent long enough, and you'll one day find you've lost the ability to speak at all. Remain seated while tyranny destroys everything around you, and the day will come when you've lost the ability to stand at all.
There's a battle of words occurring on the internet over this outrage, and I think that's a good sign. It means that ordinary people are exercising their freedom to speak, and a great many are backing their words up with positive action. It's a precursor to the battles that lie ahead, and that gives me a great deal of confidence about our future.

Well, sure A&E might be able to force the to continue filming, however I don't see how they could get any good footage going forward. If it were me being forced to act in front of the camera, I'm sure I'd have a hard time remembering my lines, might have to pause a really long time to try and remember it, and perhaps just pray to Jesus out loud to help me remember. That will be footage that A&E can't wait to air, I'm sure.
In all reality, they will just have to leave the name "Duck Dynasty" behind. Good riddance.
