Obama administration relaxes rules of health-care law four days before deadline
Washington Post ^ | 12/19/13 | Amy Goldstein

The Obama administration Thursday night significantly relaxed the rules of the health-care law for millions of consumers whose individual insurance policies have been canceled, saying they could buy bare-bones health plans or entirely avoid the requirement that most Americans have health insurance.

The surprise announcement, four days before the Dec. 23 deadline for people to choose coverage that begins on Jan. 1, triggered an immediate backlash from the health insurance industry and raised new fairness questions about a law intended to promote affordable and comprehensive coverage.

Can anyone keep track of all the changes made to the law via press conference?

Freeps, it is just time to face up to it. He has taken control of the government and is our king. There is no opposition from any of the other two branches of the government. We are all going to have to make a choice. Either we bow to our king or we will be killed.

Scotus is part and parcel of the consolidated government. Their rewriting of Obamacare was just as unconstitutional as Obama’s. All three branches plus the administrative state are on the same side. The states are little more than administrative units of the consolidated government. What little sovereignty they have is at the pleasure of the masterminds.

There is no chance the masterminds in Washington will voluntarily reform the system that profits them so well.

So when will come the Supreme Court review on the constitutionality of Obama’s legislative changes to his healthcare disaster?

I don’t see a lot of focus on the following. Millions of people lost their coverage. They are now “allowed” to sign up for catastrophic coverage.

I’m sure many many of these people lost comprehensive coverage which they wanted.

Obamacare has destroyed millions of people’s health insurance plans and they are now not covered for tons of stuff.

Obama can issue all the decrees he wants, they are not law. Congress should tell Obama that his exhortations to violate law could result in his impeachment. Congress should not allow the Executive to encroach on it’s powers.

Tell that to some other FREEPers...some believe the executive branch and its agencies/bureaucracies CAN MAKE LAW.

They call it “rule-making”, but a turd by any other name smells just as bad.

I take the Constitution’s words seriously when it says ALL LEGISLATIVE POWER is vested in the CONGRESS. (Article I, Section 1, Clause 1)

We have gotten far, far away from that notion. And now, we have executive and judicial people making law. Not just for the federal bodies within their own sphere, but for individual citizens, states, and the nation.

Dangerous. Tyranny. Fascism.

In my high school civics class, the question “in what system of government does one person get to decide what the law should be” was answered by “a monarchy”

yes, I think the reason the people who lost their coverage are being granted this reprieve by the king is because “they lost their insurance” doesnt sound as good, as “they are granted an exemption to buy new coverage”. See? how nice of Obama to give those people this Christmas gift! just change the perspective and you change what people are talking about over their Christmas cocoa.

Actually I think his 14 autocratic dictates concerning Obamacare have no legal bearing whatsoever. He is basically saying he alone is changing the law as it pertains to these 14 items, which is impossible.

Basically, if people follow his verbal instructions, they will be in direct violation of the law.

Barry Soetoro (a.k.a. Barack Obama) is way way way out on a limb on this one. The first attempted enforcement action relating to this train wreck of a law may be the shot heard on every street corner in America.

Lawless actions tend to cause reciprocal lawless actions.

" I’m at one of those times where I’m having doubts God is hearing me or any of our pleas. I’m going to go give it a try again."

Silly creature you!

Look how He's messin' up obamacare.

Keep on praying!

He is answering prayers but not in a dramatic way. I don't think we could handle it if He did something dramatic. Remember Sodom & Gomorrah? Noah?

Remember Jesus? He went to prepare a place for us. He's still preparing. Our prayers help Him continue His work.

"More fiat law-making by the executive branch."

Actually not so. The convoluted Obamacare has clauses throughout that says the HHS can adjust regulations as needed. That was one of the most horrendous parts of that socialist law. It gave too much power to a Fedgov agency to dictate rules and regulations over you health care and 1/6 of our entire economy.

Always remember, not one single Republican (even the moderate RINOs) voted to kill your access to reasonable health insurance. Hell, they didn't even have a say in it as it was passed in secrecy on Christmas Eve.

ObamaDemocratCare limited your health care insurance, It will diminish your access to insurance, hospitals, and Doctors of your choice. Many physicians are already retiring because they won't be dictated to by this socialist mechanism. Good luck finding a general practentioner or a specialist you need to stay alive as more retire over the coming years.

Has no one seen the mess in England nor the waiting periods in Canada? Canadians come down here to get immediate health care. Too bad for them since that is going to change. Worse, too bad for us. Good luck with your deductibles, co-pay, and premiums. Thanks insurance companies and you socialists for killing the best health care system on the planet.
