Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson Tells The Truth About Homosexuality
Political Realities ^ | 12/19/13 | LD Jackson

Posted on 12/19/2013 3:38:15 AM PST by LD Jackson

For the record, I do not have a television, but I am fully aware of who Phil Robertson is. You can hardly go to Wal-Mart without seeing his face on posters. He has clearly made a name for himself with Duck Dynasty, his show on A&E. He and his family have become celebrities, both because of Duck Dynasty and because of his openness with his religious beliefs. Perhaps that will be his "undoing"? If you don't want to know what Phil Robertson believes, it would be best to not ask him. You may get more than you bargained for.

In a recent interview with QC, Phil Robertson let his views on homosexuality be known. A raging firestorm has ensued against him. First, his comments. Consider this a language warning. There is no profanity, but the language is clear because Robertson is plain-spoken.

Liberty News - “It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me,” Robertson stated. “I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

“We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job,” Robertson told GQ. “We just love ‘em, give ‘em the good news about Jesus – whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ‘em out later.”

The views Phil Robertson stated are his own and he is entitled to hold those opinions. I happen to agree with what he said and with the following statement, taken directly from the QC interview. He is paraphrasing the Bible, a passage in Corinthians.
“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he says. Then he paraphrases Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”
Phil RobertsonAs much as Phil Robertson has just became immensely politically incorrect by daring to voice his opinions and quote the Bible about homosexuality, he is also telling the truth about today's society. That may rub the politically correct crowd the wrong way, but the truth of what he said is not diminished. I must say, it is quite refreshing to hear someone so popular in the entertainment industry be so open and honest with their views.

We Stand With Phil is a Facebook page for people wanting to show their support for Phil Robertson. Amidst the accusations against him, claiming he is guilty of hate speech and saying that the majority of Christians do not believe homosexuality is a sin, there is an outpouring of support for Phil Robertson. It appears he has much more support for his religious views than some people would like to give him credit for.

A&E has since censored Phil Robertson, placing him on suspension from Duck Dynasty. Since it's his show, they may find that hard to pull off, but let them give it their best shot. While a firestorm has exploded over his remarks, there is another fire that has started. In the terminology of a firefighter, I think this would be called a back fire. It is in support of Phil Robertson and it is threatening to do its job and put out the main fire of outrage against a private citizen sharing his views on homosexuality.

Homosexual activists have pushed their agenda for decades. We are seeing more and more references to the normalcy of homosexuality in our pop culture, music, movies, and other entertainment. It is not well received when someone like Phil Robertson dares to share his views with the rest of the world. They want people like him to be punished for the views they hold, instead of being free to express those views. I have no doubt the support that is now being shown for Phil Robertson is adding fuel to the fire of their consternation.

Dumped cable tv a few years ago, so I’ve never seen the show. I do however, plan on buying a few Duck Dynasty trinkets for kids and grandkids all of the sudden. Unbelievable.

I have now lived in the heart of the South for the last seven years. Before that in L.A. Calif. Seattle WA. Denver CO. and parts of Alaska. Trust me there's something different about the folks down here. Truth is a big deal down here as is faith, family and helping out others. They like guns, pickups, hunting and the American way. I think I'll just stay down here with my brother Phil for the rest of my days.

Homosexual activists have pushed their agenda for decades.

Smokers and fat people face higher costs under obamacare, but unprotected anal sex, a hallmark of today's hip fags and a cause of terminal AIDs is OK.

I'm all in favor of gay men and their "right" to unprotected anal sex, and I wish them well with their chosen life style.

If you are a Christian believer, you cannot be queer, it is a sin for Christians.

You can have your own view of religion and that's OK in America, but God is bigger than America.

I hope the whole family all quit A&E in protest and move to a more worthy network, if it exists.

I hope they just quit and go back to being a family again and doing what they do best......

Nothing good ever comes from fame and fortune and I think there's words to that effect in the bible. This event just might be a warning shout from a higher power.....

The Robertson's employer, A&E, is a profiteer of sex, violence and all sorts of human depravity and their reality show simply provides A&E with enormous revenues to continue that practice.

Phil's comments created enormous controversy for A&E and the one thing an employer doesn't want or need is controversy of this sort. A&E had no choice in their decision.

If the Robertsons are in this reality business for profit only, then they'll accept this smack down and be good boys from here on out.

If the Robertson's are in the business because they have a Christian message to give (as I hope they do), then they'll stand their ground and tell A&E to go stuff it.

If the Robertson's have to be careful about what they say on their program and in their private lives, then it isn't really reality is it? It's merely loose scripted entertainment........

I think there are several Christian networks out there but do they have the production capacity and financial resources to continue with the Dynasty? I don't know the answer to that.....

Thank you for posting the Facebook link. I am pretty sure that A&E is going to be getting both an earful and an eyeful over the next several days.

I thought we had freedom of speech, and freedom of thought?

We do. A&E is not the government. But here is the deal, and it hit my radar in 1989:

You have the right to say anything you want, except at work. And there is the rub. The government can’t stop you, but your employer can fire you. As more and more people work for large companies, afraid of getting sued at the drop of a hat, the companies will set free any employee or partner that makes things complicated.

So unless you are independently wealthy or homeless, you really don’t have freedom of speech in this country any more.

Let's try that again with better formatting, lol: You have the right to say anything you want, except at work. And there is the rub. The government can’t stop you, but your employer can fire you.

Done:

As a loyal watcher of Duck Dynasty, I am appalled by the stance you have taken over Mr. Robertson's biblical views. You are more than happy to bask in the ratings glow that his Christian principals have brought to your network yet you punish him (and us) by pulling him when he professes that faith. Hypocrites. That prayer at the end of the show and the principals that run through each segment are what has garnered your ratings share and in turn, boosted your advertising revenue. As a result of your actions, I will not watch any A&E programming or purchase and Duck Dynasty merchandise until this action has been reversed and a proper apology to the Christians you've offended is issued. Do you really believe pandering to the slight LGBT community is in your best financial interest? This is where the rubber meets the road, choose your vehicle. I am Phil Robertson.....and there are MILLIONS of us!

Actually, it is. I picked 1989 for a reason. That was when I got a memo from management regarding religious stuff at work. I worked at a large company.

Thing is, if anyone who disagrees with your religion complains (especially a customer) about your comments, you are toast, if the company has no spine. And the excuse will be that you were violating the religious rights of the other person.

Nobody's gonna shut Uncle Si up. Or Phil either.

Phil walked away from a high potential NFL career to go duck hunting.

Freedom of Speech only exist if you agree with the sodomite agenda. This is the precise reason that Barry Sinclair-Onbama has purged the US military of so many senior ranking officers. They all disagreed with his sodomization of the military. So they’re fired and replaced with little Wesley Clarks clones. So once more, you either get on the train with the queering of America or they will try to ruin your life. It all starts at the top. And with queer #1 sitting in the White House it will get worse before it gets better, and absolutely will not get better if closet lesbian Hillary Clinton is next president. Her entire cabinet would consist of lesbians and queers.

Phil Robertson is a very intelligent man and an astute businessman. He knew the sh**storm his comments would cause.

He also knew the publicity that would be generated, and made a calculated gamble that the gain to himself, his family, and his BUSINESS would far outweigh the loss of the television show.

He has always stated he expected DD to last a maximum of 3-5 years before the families beliefs and outspokenness would end the run. They just finished airing season 3 and filming season 4. Right dead smack in the center of timeline he always gave the show.

This controversy will probably end the show, but it will also be a goldmine for Duck Commander.
