China deserves all the congratulations in the world for landing its first spacecraft on the Moon. Its a big deal both for China and humanity at large. But can somebody please explain why the background image at this exhibit for Chinas recently deployed Yutu Rover depicts a massive mushroom cloud over Europe? [ ]
The most likely explanationthe one were hoping for, anywayis that this was just an unfortunate diplomatic oversight. As a redditor by the name of wigg1es points out, the backdrop is actually a stock image [
] Still, there are undoubtedly those who will interpret the choice of image as a deliberate gesture.

“Defense contractors eager to sell technology to China poured millions of dollars into Clintons campaign. In return, Clinton called off the dogs.”
So it’s really these greedy corporation’s fault.
A lot of people are to blame for what happened. The treasonous dems on the panels who acted as his defense team, too. Lucky for him, perhaps, is that the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke at the same time. It may be what got him off the hook.
For that matter, he may have set up the scandal.
Quite possibly.

POGO was RIGHT!!
Perhaps he does better at spellin'
Anyone who has read Robert Heinlein’s “The Moon is a Harsh Mistress” understand that the moon is the ultimate High Ground to fight from.
Easier to beat a sex scandal than treason.
Lol. That was an obvious typo on my part, if that’s what you’re referring to. I know how to spell “logical”.
Yet there apparently are some here who might think that a real possibility. As if the display wasn't carefully reviewed by government officials before presenting it. AND considering the other info I posted here regarding the ChiComs threatening to use nukes. I hope they don't get offended by me referring to them as "the ChiComs". Lol.
Ran a string on my globe, aligned with western edge of India, extended thru Caspian sea and beyond. Darn close to Moscow. Close enough for the size of nuke in illustration. Ohshitski!!!
Lol. Except I can’t imagine that happening. At least not in the foreseeable future. Russia and China have been staging joint war games since 2005 preparing for war with US and our allies in Europe. However, it was darn close to Moscow, wasn’t it. In any case, it doesn’t change the fact that the ChiComs are becoming an increasing missile and nuke threat.
Well, the area around the Amur river got pretty hot when they were socialist fraternal brothers. Once China decides they want and need the “Northern Resource Zone” in Siberia, they will move and Russia will be vastly outmanned and outgunned. China has a vast surplus of cannon fodder that needs to be dealt with.
I seriously doubt there will be any hostility towards each other while they both need us out of the picture. When and if that happens, I wouldn’t be at all surprise if they go after each other. They need to be partners, at least for now.
While we have vast amounts of fodder eaters...
Then again, the ChiComs didn’t mark that location themselves. It was on the graphic they lifted from that website. Maybe they just thought it precisely marked central Europe (NATO).
You run a Rule #8 on me? Really? (stating the obvious: Alinsky’s Rule 8)
And you expect to be taken seriously with theories based on presumption & conjecture while defending someone’s new “crisis”?
I’m bored now. Fini
