...Winter driving warning and Another way to stay toasty on long trips without running heat, where owners recommend winter motorcycle wear and snowmobile suits.
Duh...why didn't I think of that ???
Who said liberalism is a disease ? Savage, I think.
LOL what a bunch of morons.
Okay, then. I vote that we make all liberals in New England and Illinois drive one of these year-round. If Obama can mandate, so can we.

So with the heat turned up those forty mile electrics can only go to the end of the block.
I think he stole it from Rush.
“...turn up the heat a function that also puts a draw on the battery uncommon during other seasons.”
Doesn’t high AC use in FL, TX, AZ etc summers, do the same draw to the battery?
My 2002 Grand Cherokee ‘Laredo’ has a vastly smaller battery than an electric car, and doesn’t suffer in any month, from either high ac or heater usage. Why would a vehicle which is 10-15% battery, run-down so fast?
Just wondering.

I do not recall ever hearing Rush use it.
Nope, that’s all Savage’s quote.
Because the heat in your Jeep is a byproduct of the internal combustion engine, and the AC is driven by the engine.
The electric car has no waste heat to warm the cabin, and makes heat with resistance heating...like a hair dryer. That uses a lot of juice.
The cold might be a factor on battery drain because of heater and defroster, add in wipers and lights for early darkness and if you want to listen to the radio/stereo, you might be wishing you had an internal combustion engine.
These electrics might work for the strip 15 miles wide X 400 miles long twixt San Diego/LA/ to San Fran.
Might.
Yes, but when it craps out in the middle of the intersection and gets t-boned by a semi the driver can feel as one with the homeless community as they gather to bask in the warmth of the bonfire provided. Keep a pint of MD 20-20 handy for these gabfests. No Chardonnay please.
Got it; thanks.
I can safely predict that there will *never* be an electric vehicle in my driveway. And as far as hybrids go I *might* consider a *diesel* hybrid but *never* a gasoline one.
What is resistance heating ? I can’t imagine friction in a hair dryer.
How about a pallet of hot hands hand warmers
“...you might be wishing you had an internal combustion engine.”
Good point; thanks. That’s heresy to the White Crib/Hut. Heh.
