"It is mostly a battle of name recognition at this point, just as in the general-election numbers released yesterday, but David Dewhurst has a stranglehold in the early race for the Senate nomination. He pulls 41% to Ted Cruz’s 12%, Elizabeth Ames Jones’ 7%, and Tom Leppert’s 6%, with a huge 34% undecided. 74% of even these active primary voters are unfamiliar with Leppert, and 79% with Cruz, but only 42% cannot express an opinion of Dewhurst."

All we need to do is keep Cornyn under 50% in the primary!

Cornyn has been blasting ads since October, too. Stockman just threw his name in the ring a couple days ago.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen a more meaningless poll.

Things that make you go > Hmmmmm
1) The primary is early March.
2)Arpaio forecasts prosecutions before March, the prosecutions arising from newly uncovered evidence.
3)Some Texas Law enforcement person just resigned as she did not know her Birth Certificate was a fake.
4)Stockman was an early supporter of the CCP, and prolly has a good level on who is for or agin the CCP

I am enjoying this Christmas season!!!!

50% doesn’t seem like a great number for a sitting senator.

Wasn’t Dewhurst leading Cruz in the early polls?

If there's a runoff, Cornyn is toast and he knows it.

And there will be a runoff.

Mary Landrieu and Kay Hagan have been panicking about their re-election prospects because their poll numbers are only 47% and 43%, respectively.

So John Cornyn, who’s polling only 50% among Republicans, should also be panicking.

BTW, no one seems to be considering the consequences of a possible Supreme Court ruling this year which would eliminate all restrictions on political campaign funding. A favorable ruling would allow Conservatives to contribute enough money to Conservative candidates to overcome the advantage moderate Republicans have who often receive large contributions from companies whose interests they represent in Congress.

However, with John Cornyn at only 50%, Steve Stockman would not need such help, especially if the hugely popular Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin agree to campaign for him.
