...Expert Warns Southern California Isnt Ready For Major Quake
A leading earthquake expert has issued a dire warning to Californians about the expected impact of a major disruption to the San Andreas fault line.
The title of Dr. Lucy Jones lecture this week to the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco was Imagine America without Los Angeles.
As KCAL9′s Dave Bryan reports, Jones, a Science Advisor for Risk Reduction at the U.S. Geological Survey, says when the Big One hits Southern California, the damage could be much greater, and could last much longer, than most of us ever imagined

The downside is that the entire US economy would start to shut down in less than 30 days

Whoa. That’s weird. A few hours before this I had another premonition of the big one in CA... I get them every once in a while, probably due to watching one too many disaster flicks at the drive-in.

Don’t know if you’ve ever been on a cruise ship.
I have. Once. It was a low-budget affair as we were all booked onto it for one of these self-indulgent ‘location’ wedddings (not ours).
Anyway, as you know the food is unlimited. It’s cheap, often foreign-sourced Brand X and usually tastes horrible but it’s ‘free.’ Did I mention it’s unlimited?
As you might expect, the prospect of free unlimited food had our larger passengers - let’s call them walking ballast tanks - literally pacing the deck anxiously waiting for the chain shutters to be rolled up and the buffet opened at 7 AM ship’s time. They resembled (overweight) tigers at the zoo except they were on the outside of the cage.
How do I know unless I was there at 7 myself? Fair question. I had completed my workout begun at 5:30 AM. Unfortunately between the food and the fellow passengers I left rather hungry still.

Estee Lauder said that would happen if the day ever came when all our women got out of bed, looked in the mirror, and were satisfied with what they saw.

What a nice thought. No LA. No Hollyweird. The People’s Republic of California tilts conservative almost overnight...
Any way we can send San Francisco along with it?
