most protestants in true Christian churches abhor abortion in any fashion. Those in liberal mainline churches that have lost their way? maybe not so much. And I know several rabid pro choice catholics. Paint with a broad brush much???

“most protestants in true Christian churches abhor abortion in any fashion.”

No, not really. That’s why Jerry Falwell supported abortion when it came to the cases I mentioned.

“Those in liberal mainline churches that have lost their way? maybe not so much. And I know several rabid pro choice catholics. Paint with a broad brush much???”

No, just an accurate brush. Protestants are almost universally for artificial birth control as well - and that (when it fails) leads to abortion.

I understand she has been awakened to the truth of Christianity and the holiness of God.

She also, if I am not mistaken, is still part of the political party that endorses wealth redistribution and infanticide...not as an anomaly or a debate from within the party, but as part of the party’s orthodoxy.

She may have a long way to go, but I am glad she is at least now open to the truth.

"Not possible"? Growing in wisdom is not possible? Conversion is not possible? Personal transformation under the impetus of the love of Christ is not possible?

In what kind of hellish world is grace "not possible"?

I guess we agree to disagree. Most protestants I know that belong to Biblically sound churches are very pro life. And many famous and nationally known catholics lead the pro choice faction in this country with nary a rebuke from their church. I don’t really care what Jerry Falwell says, he is a fallible human just like the rest of us. He does not speak for protestants everywhere, any more than anyone else does.

Sorry, Powers is just another Obama loving Leftist. She has said ‘I shouldn’t have to pay for the problems of fat people or smokers’. But she believes in Obamacare, at least until she has to pay more for health care. She wants Socialized medicine but believes people with those ‘problems’ should have to pay more than she pays. She also still is a total Obama supporter. She may have found Jesus but he hasnt had much effect on her. She is still a Socialist. And Pope Francis is wrong, too.

It would be pretty stupid to convert to Evangelicl Christianity if your career depends on the approval of broadcast and digital news organizations and the producers and directors of mainstream journalism.

Think about it. This is much more likely to significantly limit Powers' future career advancement.

Catholics merely support abortion in the voting booth, most Protestants vote against the pro-abortion party.

The pro-abortion party can depend on winning the majority of the members of the Catholic denomination.

You know, you’re right. I thought about this after I posted.

What I should have said, was “Praise be to God” that she is saved.

I recall my early learnings as a new born babe in Christ...not exactly perfect would be a nice way to put it.

You could probably say the same thing about my walk with Him now....not exactly perfect. I know it never will be as long as we’re here on this planet.

I am reminded of this wonderful verse from Philippians 3:13:

Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, upward call of Christ.

I understand, but you’re missing the point. As long as Protestants accept birth control as moral they will be soft on abortion. The two moral evils always go together. Powers is pro-abortion. She just isn’t supportive of late abortion or most “elective” abortions. Until I see otherwise, I have to assume she is like most Protestants who call themselves pro-life: abortion for rape, incest, health of the mother is A-Okay in her book.

It’s a Protestant country that made abortion legal. Too many Catholics act like Protestants. Protestants are simply not really pro-life.

In the last couple of years, I’ve found that I really like her for her honesty. As a Dem strategist, she has not just blathered the Dem talking points, like the majority of them do. She expresses her own views and is often critical of Obama and other Dems. Winner! It also doesn’t hurt that she’s easy on the eyes. She’s a journalist, not a sycophant.

I should assume that Kirsten’s relationship with her evangelistic “Christian” boyfriend was purely Platonic, right?

You need to get back to reality, Catholics are loyal to the pro-abortion party, that party never wins the majority of the protestant vote.

If Catholics voted like Protestants collective, then they would also be supporting life, if the members of the Catholic denomination voted like members of the more conservative denominations, then it would be fantastic, but that will never happen.
