I have three, Joseph’s Song
Patricia, My Darling Patricia
Watchin’ Scottie Grow.
The first tells of Joseph’s wonder of the Christ Child
The second, tells of my father’s love for me and
The third tells of my love for my son, Scott.
When Scott was three years old, he heard Watchin’ Scottie Grow on the radio. A few days later, he said, “Turn on the radio, I want to hear Watchin’ Scottie Grow.” I especially like the last line-—Me and God are watchin’ Scottie grow.

Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our
AWESOME
Military, our Allies, and their families.
Thank you, Connie, for preparing the Canteen for todays activities.
Just dropping in to say hello while I have my coffee.
. . . . . .
I do have to offer my opinion piece
as I watch the news on Black Friday shoppers...
Retailers REALLY need to come up with a better idea.
People acting like there is a food shortage,
trampling over each other for what?
Certainly not food...a toy?
HIGHWAY 20 RIDE (Zac Brown Band)
I ride east every other Friday but if i had it my way
The day would not be wasted on this drive
And I want so bad to hold you
Son there's things I haven't told you
Your mom and me couldn't get along
So I'll drive
And I think about my life
And wonder why, That I slowly die inside
Every time I turn that truck around,
right at the Georgia line
and i count the days and the miles back home to you
on that Highway 20 ride
A day might come and you'll realize
that if you could see through my eyes
There was no other way to work it out
And a part of you might hate me
But son please don't mistake me
For a man that didn't care at all
And I'll drive
And I'll think about my life
And wonder why, That I slowly die inside
Every time I turn that truck around,
right at the Georgia line
and i count the days and the miles back home to you
on that Highway 20 ride
So when you drive
And the years go flying by
I hope you smile
If i ever cross your mind
It was a pleasure of my life
And I cherished every time
And my whole world
It begins and ends with you
On that Highway 20 ride....
Got to make my rounds.
But, stay right where you are.
Chat up the troops and their families.
Now remember, the Canteen is ALWAYS
OPEN
Come in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS
REMEMBER THEM
DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM
FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

Thank YOU!!!!
That song has made me laugh since I first heard it. Growing up in NC, I was familiar with people who had some or all or the elements of this song in their lives year round. I am as comfortable with them as I am with the richy, rich people I worked for.
God Bless America!!!!

Good morning to everyone at the Canteen. 36º with some frost on the roofs. Guess I'll wait until later for my walk. I ate too much yesterday.

A thread about family-related songs wouldn't be complete without Bill Anderson's
Po' Folks.
I first heard this on the radio of our 1958 Edsel Villager station wagon on August 21, 1961. I and didn't hear it again until January, 2012, when it was played over satellite radio in my 2012 Hyundai.

Thanks, it has been a long journey and this song has and still does jog my memory to the good thoughts along the way.
I have many more but this one seems to rise above the others. I was/am a Abba fan. Fell in love with Agnetha Faltskog and never fell out. lol

Fredd only got a small bite of turkey. We didn’t cook one this year althought went to the town dinner. So not many leftovers....He did get to lick the paper plates with the residue from the gravy, stuffing and mashed potatoes!!!
