A group of Brooklyn tenants busted back into their rent-stabilized apartments Tuesday after their landlord had locked them out and marketed their units for more money.
After a series of fires forced out tenants of the six-unit building in Brownsville, landlord Yuen Ip changed the locks and ignored the citys warnings to let them back in, said Brooklyn Legal Services attorney Adam Meyers.
The four, accompanied by Meyers, showed up with a locksmith and reentered three apartments. Another apartment had already been rented.

For the same reason over 80% of them voted for 0bama in 2012...
True. I doubt they would fare very well though.
And their new mayor too.
No, that building was NOT their property, it was his property. Yes, he wanted to rent it to those willing to pay more than they were. They are free to buy their own building and charge whatever they want.
There is a reason why we have these things called ‘prices’ in a capitalist system.
“Turns out that they had, and that he just wanted more money and was willing to turf people out of their home HIS PROPERTY to get it.”
Thats better.
Of course not. That would be illegal and very unfortunate.
However accidents do happen especially when the tenants are a bunch of freeloading moochers who demand that others support them.
Like if your neighbors lazy son moved in with you and then refused to leave and fell asleep smoking.
Tenants have to have some measure of protection from the whims of landlords, seems like the law agrees with me...
Rent control makes as much sense as Nixons price controls did.
Great if you are not the owner/seller and is great only if you are one of the few who get them before they run out at the controlled price... Everyone else gets screwed.
What many apartment owners did in response to rent control is stop renting and sell the apartment as condos
I'm very glad to hear that. Perhaps you might make an effort to be a bit clearer so that you posts would not be so easily misinterpreted.
LOL
