Democratic congressman Nick Rahall of West Virginia was one of the 39 Democrats to vote last Friday to allow insurance plans that were on the market in 2013 to be sold next year. But during a radio interview, Rahall made it clear that he didn't regret voting for Obamacare in the first place.
"I think there's more good than bad in that law," he said. Rahall added that he thought some of his constituents will find it was in their "best interest" to have their current plans canceled.
"I believe that West Virginians, once they have access to the website and once they have the information available to them, will be able to make the decisions that are in their best interests," Rahall said. "After all, those that are receiving the cancellation letters today, some 9,500 or more in West Virginia, they're not being told in these cancellation letters that its because they don't meet the requirements of the act. The requirements of which may be, if they're given the information, allowed access to it, may be in their best interest in the long term to be canceled."
Rahall, who has served in Congress since 1977, has usually won reelection by huge margins, but he slipped to 56 percent of the vote in 2010 and 54 percent in 2012.
Get this pathetic statist dinosaur out of Congress, WV.
That’s because you and your family are exempt from it a**hole! Geeesh! You are one courageous SOB.
It seems Rahall is supporting the turkey that’s putting many West Virginians out of work with his war on coal.
If its on tape, then it should make a good campaign ad.
I don’t know if GOP has the brains, or the guts, to field a decent candidate against scumbag Rahall, but he deserves to be removed from office.
Neither did Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky for voting for Hillarycare.
Did he actually read the law or is he reciting the official party talking points?
I’ll bet the latter.
He sure does and the post by dontreadthis says it all!
He may not regret it, but his constituents are beginning to, and the more acquainted they become with Obamacare, the more they will regret having supported someone who voted for it. His constituents are well on their way to hating Obamacare, and hating the lies they have been told about it.
He has been supportive of the coal industry. He is a close relative of mine so I find these comments hard even though I disagree with him on many things.
He ‘s a DIM. He supports the party that hates coal and hates you. Vote the compromised bum out.
They might want to do one of those “mental health checks” on this guy.
Interviewers are lame.
Q1) “Did you read it first?”
Q2) “Is voting for a law you have not read simple malfeasance in office, or outright treason?”
Sigh.
ask him the questions in post 15, and provide us the answers.
If he answers.
Absolute BS. And he knows it. The cancellation letters are telling them exactly why they are being cancelled...because of OC requirements.
Just another effin elitist socialist liar. He knows what's best for us, and in spite of the destruction of lives he is causing, he knows we will come to appreciate our betters thinking and deciding for us, The Great Unwashed.
Prick.
If you like your congressman, you can keep him.
OMG,,that picture!!! Where did you get that? Can I get a copy? I need that for so many reasons!!!

He likes to talk the talk... but then he hires a bunch of environmental radicals that have worked for, and donated to, various anti-coal groups:
