I rarely read an editorial in its entirety -- but this was one of those I did read completely. It really is an excellent analysis of the Obama presidency. Highly recommend it.

Even the WP has an editorial on Obama’s credibility gap:

For Obama, loss of trust over health-care law poses major problems for his agenda, legacy

I never thought Obama had much “personal charisma,” but maybe that's just me. I find his speech annoying, as he tends to whistle his words...

If Barack Obama seems like a man alone, with nervous Democrats up for re-election next year running for cover, and away from him, this was the world he made. No advisers of stature can question his policies; the price of access in the Obama court is quiescence before the leader's will. The imperial presidency is in full bloom

Yep, in full bloom and about to lose die on the vine.

“When the Obama Magic Died.” For me that was about the second time I saw him and heard him speak. Around 2004?

Only magic in this presidency is the illusions many sheeple still believe in.

“During his first campaign, Mr. Obama had paid tribute to Ronald Reagan as a “transformational” president and hinted that he aspired to a presidency of that kind. But the Reagan presidency was about America, and never about Ronald Reagan. Reagan was never a scold or a narcissist. He stood in awe of America, and of its capacity for renewal. There was forgiveness in Reagan, right alongside the belief in the things that mattered about America—free people charting their own path.”

Democrats, and the media particularly, used up every bit of capital they ever had in protecting this man from honest scrutiny and accountability. They exhibited ideological and racial hypocrisy, duplicity and outright lying from the very moment this pretender came on scene.

I remember a phrase so trumpeted in 2008, “We are the answer we have been looking for.” Now that has become their epitaph. For the ‘vulnerable’ Democrats now and the media I have this one recommendation. Put that on your electoral and editorial headstones. You deserve it.

Thanks for posting. Good read. Obama reminds me of a scene from Schindler’s List:

Itzhak Stern: Let me understand. They put up all the money. I do all the work. What, if you don’t mind my asking, would you do?

Oskar Schindler: I’d make sure it’s known the company’s in business. I’d see that it had a certain panache. That’s what I’m good at. Not the work, not the work... the presentation.

The Democrats have marched in lock step with this president and are responsible for the lost of millions of health care coverage and the soon to be experience of astronomical higher premiums. And with each false “reprieve” it only worsen the situation. The health insurance mess is only starting. The worst is still yet to come.

I’d say the magic is gone.

Nice article. Like Rush says, if the media makes you, it can break you, although I don’t see too many in the media turning.

Rule by personal charisma has met its proper fate.

I never saw any charisma in the man. I always saw arrogant condescension. His body language reeks of a strong sense of superiority--look how he always looks down at people, how he tilts his head back so as to give the impression he is looking down even at people as tall or taller than himself.

Contrast that to GW Bush, who always looks *at* people, and lowers himself to their level when they are shorter than him. He obviously looks at others as his equal, not as serfs there to do his bidding.

Looking down one's nose at people is very much a part of the liberal psyche; I have seen this behavior many times. I wonder if the liberals who are on the receiving end of this behavior see it in some warm and fuzzy way? Like they interpret it as a loving father placing them in the role of his children, or something? Even that interpretation marks the behavior as highly condescending.

I'm going to say something, not profound, but true.

Every single person on this forum....every single one...saw thru this phony from the first time he opened his mouth. We screamed about his illegitimacy to his empty suit. What's more all of us here saw that he was not one of us.

Not only did he not study the history of other presidencies, he studied nothing. He taught us nothing.

He knew nothing about growing up in America, because he didn't grow up here. He knew nothing about getting cut from a Little League Team, or the courage of stepping up to a bully. I doubt too, that he knew nothing about our American heroes in any war.

None of us are surprised. And guess what folks...? I'm relishing every minute of this. I can't wait for all of it to come out.

We should now, all of us, not talk about purging the Rinos, the GOP etc, although it needs purging, we should now, all of us, unite under one cause ie to sit back and watch the fall, hopefully for the last time, of liberalism in America and win the Senate in 2014.
