“I’m telling you Val, not even Harry Reid’s going to vote FOR this health care bill if we don’t appease the restless public. You know how they are in this country,” and with this Michelle Obama blew a breath-wind up to her bangs and began to pace. “We’ve spent millions dumbing down this electorate and finally we’ve got them not caring about anything except what affects them.”
Val jumped up as if on cue. “Michelle....don’t say another word. I know where you’re going.” At Val’s shout Michelle squinted her eyes with doubt but remained quiet.
“Barry’s going to announce at all speeches and campaign events that if the American citizen likes their health care that they can keep it. He’ll say the same things about doctors. That’s all they want to hear.”
At these words Michelle rolled her eyes dangerously. Barry mindlessly tapped a piano key from the bench he sat on. He only had to hear the conclusion of these two women and he would do as instructed.
“What do you mean he’s going to say Americans can keep their health care? That’s NOT TRUE, Val. The whole idea is to get rid of their health care and get a plan that meets federal requirements. We need young women to have free birth control and abortion, we need to allow wrongly-gendered people have an operation to fix it. We ...”.
Val held up both hands at this time to stop Michelle’s rant. “Come on Michelle, we’re killing two birds with one stone by what is really just a little lie. We have specifically put words in the law that refer to a “grandfathered” subset of subscribers. Then we get Selbelius to write all the exceptions. Boom, we got the excuse we will need come time to implement this thing. It will help us win the election as well.”
“And what do you intend to do when the congress and public finds out we’re deliberately lying?”
Val lit up a cigarette and took a long drag.
“Come on Michelle, by the time we have to deal with this, Obama will have been re-elected, he will have the power of righteousness of victory. It’s a no-brainer. We’ll just point out the words “grandfathered”, we’ll blame the Republicans, we’ll blame the nasty insurance companies. Michelle we got focus groups on standby every minute of every day. When, up till now, have we failed? They love Barry. We got this.”
Only it didn’t turn out that way because us idiots out here in la-la land, we know lies....WE GOT KIDS FOR GOD’S SAKE!
And yeah, THIS affects EVERY ONE of us.
This Obama admin has done wonderfully in the art of peeing upon our feet and telling us it’s raining. He’s been especially successful at it with the Republicans. so no opposition party and I wondered when it was going to implode.
