Explore the worlds new coastlines if sea level rises 216 feet.
The maps here show the world as it is now, with only one difference: All the ice on land has melted and drained into the sea, raising it 216 feet and creating new shorelines for our continents and inland seas.
There are more than five million cubic miles of ice on Earth, and some scientists say it would take more than 5,000 years to melt it all. If we continue adding carbon to the atmosphere, well very likely create an ice-free planet, with an average temperature of perhaps 80 degrees Fahrenheit instead of the current 58.
We can still dream, can't we?
How about Acid Rain?
Another made up story from the NRDC.
“Havent heard about holes in the ozone since 1993.”
*******
The Freakers ran out of ways to make any
more money on it.
Until then, the are just watermelon Marxists promoting the latest control scheme.
FWIW, I think flooding the Qatarra would be a sensible stand alone project with or without global warming. It would be a giant step forward in turning back desertification on that part of the planet
Besides, if liberals really believed all this crap, they wouldn't be buying beach houses in Florida, now would they?
Let's take Serena Williams, for example. If she really believed all this rising sea levels crap, would she have forked over millions of dollars for this mansion in West Palm Beach? I think not. Liberals are stupid, but not that stupid.
The polar caps cannot have a major meltdown. The sun’s angle at the top & bottom of the earth, combined with major periods of darkness, won’t permit great amounts of melting.
But, for the collectivists, this isn’t about facts.
I watched one the other night about what the great lakes would look like if they were drained.
Am I bad just because that mental image brought a smile to my face?
If coastal flooding would cause more people to move into the Rocky Mtns, I’m against it.
Manhattan kind of has the Venice look.
I read an article a few weeks back that said this is *bad*. Something about global warming causing more snow and ice, or something.
Hilarious. How hard it must be for the true believers to tie their brain in knots to justify their belief system.
Hey now! This Floridian takes exception to your insinuation.
Longer growing seasons and more food. Warmer temps and no harsh winters. Where is the down side?
No, not at all but my image of who is floating face down is greatly expanded from just that worthless SOB. Was it wrong for our parents and grandparents to wish the Nazis dead?
“scientists say it would take more than 5,000 years to melt it all. If we continue adding carbon to the atmosphere, well very likely create an ice-free planet, with an average temperature of perhaps 80 degrees Fahrenheit instead of the current 58”
So NatGeo’s theory is that they can precisely predict climate for 5,000 years solely based on mankind existing for 5,000 years, having a 5,000 year supply of carbon sources to burn, developing no other energy sources, and that there are no other climate-changing factors besides those in 5,000 years. I guess that makes sense. To a Democrat.
That’s like saying if you fill a glass with ice cubes, add water until the ice floats at the rim - the glass will overflow when the ice melts.
I think that, according to the law of conservation of angular momentum, the new redistribution of mass away from the poles, would reduce the earths rotation enough to eliminate the need for leap years into the foreseeable future.
Then too, if the ice pack at the poles starts freezing again will it suck all that water back to the poles? One good thing though, it sure would clean the streets of NYC like it’s a bad thing?
They also leave out the fact that the land rises where the ice melts.
JUST KIDDING!
