I have read that column. Not sure I agree with all of it. I just don’t have any faith that a ConCon would give us anything better than we have, and more than likely it will be worse.
I would support repealing the 17th amendment, but I am happy with the current constitution. I would like for Congress to quit abdicating their responsibility by letting the President and the Courts do whatever the heck they want, and passing laws to give the President ever more power just so they have a scapegoat.
You contradicted yourself.
When the states booted themselves from the senate, it meant that ALL power would soon float upward into DC. The popularly elected senate is not there to enforce the 10th Amendment; it is there to reflect the will of the mob.
The restoration of federalism, the vertical separation of power is a fundamental principle of our framers’ constitution. They knew that popularly derived bodies soon descend into majoritarian tyranny.
The congress won’t quit supporting tyranny. And they will not support correcting the problems and curtailing their power. It is time to get past hopes and dreams face reality. The marxists are in charge of all the centers of power in this country. Article five is our next to last hope. And that hope hangs by a thread.
