REVEALED: OBAMA CAMPAIGN BUNDLER HELPING FUND LIBERTARIAN IN TIGHT VA. GUBERNATORIAL RACE

A major Democratic Party benefactor and Obama campaign bundler helped pay for professional petition circulators responsible for getting Virginia Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Robert C. Sarvis on the ballot — a move that could split conservative votes in a tight race.

Campaign finance records show the Libertarian Booster PAC has made the largest independent contribution to Sarvis’ campaign, helping to pay for professional petition circulators who collected signatures necessary to get Sarvis’ name on Tuesday’s statewide ballot.

Austin, Texas, software billionaire Joe Liemandt is the Libertarian Booster PAC’s major benefactor. He’s also a top bundler for President Barack Obama. This revelation comes as Virginia voters head to the polls Tuesday in an election where some observers say the third-party gubernatorial candidate could be a spoiler for Republican Ken Cuccinelli.

It should always be presumed that a third party candidate running in a race where the left has a weak horse is a shill for the left. It has ever been thus.

“The democrats will find a million ways to cheat.”

This is not cheating. The funding and donations are legal.

It is deception, but it is not cheating.

It is simple..., when the GOP unites and takes the Libertarians as their allies not enemies the conservative movement will have its chance to legislate....

Except that Sarvis isn’t a Libertarian. He’s a Liberaltarian.

And thus a strong Libertarian will help elect a Liberal ... as is often the case.

All the Republicans had to do was sponsor a Green Party candidate to offset whatever votes the Libertarian candidate got.

Then everyone could vote for the party of their choice and not be forced to choose between tweedledum and tweedledumber.

In the late 1990s, some of McAuliffe’s business ventures came under investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor, which filed suit against two labor-union officials, both of them with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers pension fund, for entering into questionable business arrangements with McAuliffe.

Both officials later agreed to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in penalties for their actions, and the union itself had to reimburse its pension fund by nearly $5 million.

In one deal, McAuliffe and the fund officials created a partnership to buy a large block of commercial real estate in Florida. McAuliffe put up $100 for the purchase, while the pension fund put up $39 million. Yet McAuliffe got a 50-percent interest in the deal; he eventually walked away with $2.45 million from his original $100 investment. In another instance, the pension fund loaned McAuliffe more than $6 million for a real-estate development, only to find that McAuliffe was unable to make payments for nearly five years.

In the end, the pension fund lost some of its money, McAuliffe moved on to his next deal, and fund officials found themselves facing the Labor Department’s questions.

...and libertarians are willing to put him in office by siphoning votes from Cuccinelli with the help of Karl Rove and establishment republicans in DeeCee

Perhaps not. A strong pro-abortion Libertarian who pushes the legal dope message might take votes from the Democrat.

The Va media ignored Sarvis because they knew he’d steal votes from McAuliffe if people knew his stands.

"This information has come out kinda late..."...

My thought exactly...FReepers will already know/strongly suspect this, while everyone else will find out a wee bit too late to run back to the polls crying "we was duped!" and change their vote...

HOWEVER, I will keep my fingers crossed for Cuccinelli (sic) and the good people of Virginia...hope springs eternal, ya know!

The Alan Grayson election in his original House district was just such a libertarian plant, with money from dems splitting off the potential libertarian Repub vote. It is how he got in in the first place, and in the second (now) also features in a largely hispanic new district.

On issues, dems cannot win in a fair fight.

Ally with Sarvis?

With a freak who has promised to do all he can to push “marriage equality” on my state, and who brags about his queer friends? And who wants to tax carbon emissions?

There is NOTHING there with which I would dream of allying.

It just goes to show that there are two parties the Republican and the Democrat. When a conservative votes for the libertarian or the constitutionalists he is just throwing is vote to the Democrats. These parties defeated Mia love, Jesse Kelly, Denny Rehberg and Richard Mourdock all good conservatives they never cause the defeat of any rinos.

After the latest, and greatest, betrayal by the GOPe of Conservatives and their values, I think the days of that boogieman scaring people are gone for many.

And how much of a leap of faith does it take to believe they have sockpuppet “Libertarians” post on boards such as these to help split the vote.

Any real Libertarians on this board who end up voting for that shill should have their head examined.
