Former George W Bush communications director Nicolle Wallace and National Journal columnist Ron Fournier critiqued President Barack Obamas spectator-like handling of the Affordable Care Act rollout on Tuesdays Morning Joe, alternately comparing it to the Bush administrations handling of the Iraq War and Hurricane Katrina.

I think he handled Katrina just fine. He was told by local dim leaderships they did not need him until after they realized their screw-up.
Iraq, we should have never gone.
Some similarities to Iraq, Katrina is not valid.
Iraq was sold in 2002 to 2003 as cheap(oil will pay for it) , easy (we will be welcomed as liberators, like in France 1944) and necessary (those scary mushroom clouds) and it turned out endless sets of problems after problems.
Leaving GOP/Bush Loyalists with few options circling the wagons as the circle got smaller and smaller.
Enter Obamacare. cheap, easy and necessary and boom, what goes around comes around Obama.
Yep.
Thanks, as I was once a real believer in Bush, Cheney, Rummy and I really believed them.
And to see the nightmare drag on month after month, year after year it was very painful for me and many others I am sure.
Taught me real lesson though,
“Some similarities to Iraq, Katrina is not valid.” A liberal can NEVER EVER say anything bad about another liberal with saying something bad about a conservative or a Republican as well.
Me too.
The whole Arab Spring debacle ultimately turned me against the First Gulf War....Saddam was just “par for the course” in that part of the world. And he kept the Iranians and the Islamo-Fasicsts at bay....After we left him in power, he ultimately turned towards them out of anger.
In this case I dont see that.
In this case its Bush and the libs been pretty kind to him the last year or so. Obama thanking him in public, etc, lecturing us to be more like him.
Considering what a big fuss libs made over those two problems in Bush years Iraq/Katrina w them beating them to death the remarks above can be considered huge insults to the Obama administration, by his own.
Libs have a lot riding on Obamacare, a bill they never really liked, but they rallied around it anyway because of a feeling of necessity(its Obamacare and his liberal legacy) , much like talk radio rallied around Iraq as Mom and Apple pie.
Hate to be the historic skunk of the party, but many supported the Iraq War as a test case of Democracy in Arabia.
After 9/11, it was clear that failed dictatorships were using Islam to direct disaffected young men against the West.
If a democracy could work, then those young men would quit bombing and start working at a productive job.
That attempt was worth a try. If it had worked, we would have bought 100 years of peace.
It didn’t work, proving that Islam is hopeless. That doesn’t make the attempt dishonorable. It makes it a bad bet in hindsight.
Next time anyone suggests intervention in Arabia (see Syria), America will rightly recoil due to our proved inability to affect those horrid muslims.
The end point for me now is that Islam is to be fenced off. They should not be physically allowed into the modern world.
But now that libs (seem to) think they delivered GOP/Boehner and Tea Party a knock-out punch now its the Obamacare fiasco that is the threat to them.
Socialized medicine is their dream and all they got was Obamacare
they got the lack of Leadership part right. FDR, Clinton, were leaders—this clown hasn’t a clue what leadership is all about. Putin had him pegged right.
I agree. But also would add my belief that, althought it’ll never be publically acknowleged, going into Iraq had a lot to do with getting the US “containment” forces out of Saudi Arabia, off holy Saudi soil and allowing the House of Saud to settle down it’s riled up “street”.
Sorry.
I never heard once that oil was going to pay for Iraq except for people on FR who thought that would be a great idea.
Would you be kind enough to provide an authoritative link from a goverment source for that assertion?
Its not obamas fault
He inherited this mess, and the GOP is rooting for failure.
He was playing golf relaxing after his HUGE victory over GOP and getting the government running again and he heard about this mess on the news.
He is just as frustrated as we are.
Thats not leadership?
Obama gets drawn more and more like a clown - same thing happened to Carter when he lost the press
All to make Hillary look better.
Iraq and Sodamn Hinsane were paying people to commit suicide in Israel, how long were we to allow that to continue? After Kuwait he tried to assassinate Bush The Elder. At what point does he cross that line?
One would think that the $500 million multi-year IT project would be a recurring topic at Obama's Cabinet meetings, right? What were the conversations like? How often was he briefed on the project's status by Sebelius?
Oh, yeah... Obama doesnt hold Cabinet meetings.

OOOPPS wasnt Cheney it was Rummy who told us that whopper, that is where they heard it from, It was Cheney who warned us of mushroom clouds over US cities (1984 TV movie The Day After ") unless we jump in.
BOOM! I am good!
Why did we get into the first Gulf War? Keep in mind the Saudis and Kuwaitis were side-drilling into Iraqi oil fields. And who cares about Kuwait, just another creation of British map makers. We should never have gotten involved in a fight between Arabs.
