Bombshell: Obamacare Website Uses Decade-Old Technology, May Require 'Constant Fixes' For Six Months

Not "FIXES", "ENHANCEMENTS". /sarc

More kickbacks for Hussein's crooked cronies.

If we had tried to sabotage the roll-out of Obamacare, we could not have done such a thorough and long-lasting job.

We could all, us, conservatives on tv, twitter, facebook, especially when voiced . . . calling Obamacare a Disaster of Nuclear Proportions . . . AND to make it STICK, pronounce it just like George W. Bush pronounced “nuclear” nu-cu-lar . . . make it stick it will drive the libs CRAZY. They spent so many years making fun of him . . . label their pet legislation with it and turn it back on THEM. :)

No matter what they do to this website to get it working, it will still not fix the problem of the governments rabid insistence on gathering more personal information than they need to process any medical insurance requests.

This program is nothing more than a data mining program meant to tie all the government databases into one pretty bow tied present of COMPLETE DATA ASSURANCE for any individual in this country.

I’ll do without, or ‘get Haitian’ and start throwing around chicken bones and making rag voodoo dolls for medicine before I EVER log into such a site.

“The insurers are very, very worried about the viability of the exchange system.’

Interesting to watch the MSM squirm over this. Not much coverage. They can only deny so long. It's something they can't spin.

The federal health care exchange was built using 10-year-old technology

At least it's not written in Perl.

If you think signing up is a mess...

Wait until you actually need medical care.

All you need to do is look at England to see what kind of care you will get under Obamacare.

There will be two levels, the elite and then the rest of us.

The elite will get private hospitals, private doctors the best of everything. The rest of us will get what ever is left over.

Thank you Democrats. Thank you Liberals. Thank you Socialist. I hope you are all happy, especially when you discover you are going to be lumped in with the rest of.

The failure of the system is, I think, proof positive that the Dems aren’t interested in governing. Their total focus is on advancing their agenda as fast as they can and consequences be damned.

What’s wrong with it? Does the sidebar keep disappearing? When you try to post something does the screen go blank?

Love to see who the media is going to defend this launch of Obamacare with decades old technology.
And I always was told by the media that they are the smartest people on earth.
Looks like it was exactly what they planned, a scam.

Pretty funny that the candidate who relied on technology to “get the vote out” has contracted an obviously inferior group of people to develop the application for their “signature” piece of legislation.

Goes to show you that their priority is getting elected and not running an efficient government. But...I think everyone here already knows this.

I can't believe I'm writing this sentence, but Obamacare's exchanges appear to somehow be more deeply corrupted and broken than previously known. If there were words more impactful than "meltdown" and "trainwreck," I'd use them. Instead, I'll simply present the facts as they continue to come to light. USA Today:

The federal health care exchange was built using 10-year-old technology that may require constant fixes and updates for the next six months and the eventual overhaul of the entire system, technology experts told USA TODAY....Recent changes have made the exchanges easier to use, but they still require clearing the computer's cache several times, stopping a pop-up blocker, talking to people via Web chat who suggest waiting until the server is not busy, opening links in new windows and clicking on every available possibility on a page in the hopes of not receiving an error message. With those changes, it took one hour to navigate the HealthCare.gov enrollment process Wednesday. Those steps shouldn't be necessary, experts said..."The application could be fundamentally flawed," said Jeff Kim, president of CDNetworks, a content-delivery network. "They may be using 1990s technology in 2.0 world." Outsiders acknowledged they can't see the whole system, but they said they feared HHS built a system that will need an expensive overhaul that would cause more headaches for people trying to buy insurance.

Only “hundreds” have been able to sign up for a health care plan at the Obamacare websites. The Wall Street Journal reported:

Okay now we will try the landline # 1-800-318-2596 listed above or 1-800-318-2596 = 1-800-FAU-CKYO.

Ezra Klein interviews Robert Laszewski: [It’s just one laugh line after another.]

....BL: I think they trusted their subcontractors. There’s an astronaut joke that an astronaut is a guy sitting on top of a rocket assembled by the lowest bidders. Obamacare is a bit like the astronaut on top of the rocket. As I understand it, some of these were no-bid contracts, like CGI.....

.. There’s an old joke in the insurance industry that you don’t get very far if you bet your career on promises the IT department is making. And these people didn’t just bet their career on it. They bet Obama’s signature project on it!...

... I joke in speeches that the CIA director couldn’t get away with an affair but no one could figure out what was going on inside HHS.....

The basic plans have been in place since Hollerith cards were invented.

Like the 2000+ page healthcare Obomination, the core bits have been on the shelf for decades, constantly being added to, and only occasionally being reviewed and updated.
