IMPLEMENTATION EXPOSES LIES USED TO SELL OBAMACARE
San Diego Union-Tribune ^ | October 18, 2013 | Editorial Board

Posted on 10/18/2013 5:22:38 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

In 2009 and 2010, President Barack Obama offered incessant promises that the arrival of the Affordable Care Act would mean savings for just about everyone and that everyone would be able to keep their doctors. Just last month, he told the Spanish-language network Telemundo that critics of his signature law were simply “wrong,” and that Americans would quickly develop an appreciation of its wonders after implementation began Oct. 1.

If the president made any of these claims now, he would be laughed off the stage.

Yes, the U.S. health-care system was deeply flawed before the Affordable Care Act. Yes, reforms are needed to keep health-care spending in check and to bring insurance coverage to more people.

But what Americans didn’t need was confused, contradictory “reform” sold with dishonest happy talk. It’s time to scrap the Obamacare nightmare and start from scratch.

We know most Republicans agree. But after this month’s multilevel fiasco, so should allegedly centrist Democrats.

Well, Rep. Scott Peters? Well, Rep. Susan Davis? Well, Rep. Juan Vargas? Defend this debacle — or join those who want it gone.

I think insurance in the first place is the cause of the high cost of healthcare. Doctors decided they wanted to be rich and to price fix procedures so that could happen.

In the old days doctors accepted a ham, two dozen eggs for what now costs thousands.

Physician heal thyself

I’m no longer calling this “Obamacare”. I’m calling it for it is: Communism. So for me the title of this article is: “Implementation exposes lies used to sell communism”.

This scam has absolutely nothing to do with health care. It’s about giving the government an avenue to redistribute wealth. Obama is next going to work on illegals - basically have them flood the country and suck at the teet of this scam which will drive rates through the roof which will result in more fines. And because they classify these “fines” as a tax, guess what happens next? The IRS gets involved and starts in with the liens, possessions, auctions and ta-da, there you go - Mission accomplished: redistribution of wealth. So this isn’t “Obamacare” - It’s flat out communism.

Untrue. Obama only speaks to those who fawn over him, and no matter what he says, over 40% of the American people lap it up like mother's milk.

Don’t forget the insurance monopolies - their hands are equally dirty, if not more so.

I’ll take an Insurance monopoly over Obamacare any day of the week. At least I wasn’t forced to purchase their product.

"Yes, the U.S. health-care system was deeply flawed before the Affordable Care Act"

Yes, but almost all of those problems were CAUSED by government intervention

you’ve been making some pretty silly comments this morning

Health care went nuts due to 3 things

1) The government made it a ‘benefit’ your employer could give you in pre-tax dollars. (why? you don’t buy your car insurance or homeowners insurance through your boss...)

2) Group insurance was structure with CO-PAY (you pay the same $50 no matter where you go- your local pharmacy could charge $300 and the one 10 miles away could charge $200 and you would not care)

3) The government made it a law that no one could be turned away from a hospital or emergency room. So you had welfare cases calling an ambulance to go to the hospital so they could get a ride to go see their friend who lived near the hospital. You had Mexicans flooding across the border for free baby delivery service.. etc etc etc

ALL CAUSED BY GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION

“you’ve been making some pretty silly comments this morning”

YOU ARE ENTITLED TO YOUR OPINION

“Health care went nuts due to 3 things

1) The government made it a ‘benefit’ your employer could give you in pre-tax dollars. (why? you don’t buy your car insurance or homeowners insurance through your boss...)”

EMPLOYERS OFFERED THIS PREVIOUSLY

“2) Group insurance was structure with CO-PAY (you pay the same $50 no matter where you go- your local pharmacy could charge $300 and the one 10 miles away could charge $200 and you would not care)”

THIS WASN’T THE GOVERNMENT

“3) The government made it a law that no one could be turned away from a hospital or emergency room. So you had welfare cases calling an ambulance to go to the hospital so they could get a ride to go see their friend who lived near the hospital. You had Mexicans flooding across the border for free baby delivery service.. etc etc etc

ALL CAUSED BY GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION”

YES, I KNOW THE WELFARE CLASS GOES TO THE HOSPITAL FOR A HANGNAIL, I HAVE CHALLENGED CLIENTS ON THIS

I still think the ins cos and the physicians were in cahoots to stabilize and increase prices.

I wanted to share this with you it is from my niece that takes care of my brother in laws affairs here is Obama care in action..Below Oh and I got a letter from my cardiologist saying I will be seeing a nurse practioner instead of the doctor from now on..

Unfortunately, he will not be able to get the shot right away. Oh, I forgot
to mention, I got a letter from their insurance company that they are
dropping Dr. (cardiologist), Dr. (lungs) and Dr. Hunt
(primary care doctor) from their system as of January 1. I talked to Dr office and it is a government thing. They did not mention anything
to his staff about what they were doing - just said they were dropping them.
So he is fighting it.

I talked to Dr. J’s office and they were shocked! They had not received
anything about being dropped so they asked me to scan in the letter I
received so they could see it and get started on the appeals process. I
will see Dr. Hunt’s people tomorrow and ask them about it.

These are the main 3, critical doctors for them so worse case scenario, we
will go with standard Medicare - I am going to check into doing that
to compare benefits for them.

“Yes, the U.S. health-care system was deeply flawed before the Affordable Care Act.”
Nope, not buying this BS. Deeply flawed was the incessant and increasing FedGov meddling in a sector of the nation that was NOT wihin its Constitutional mandate. Over fifty years of ‘feel good’ politics and socialist interference have fostered the ‘flawed’ system we had before Zero and the 0bamunists arrived on the scene. They went ‘all in’ with this piece of legislative solid waste, the anything-but-ACA. It’s their stepping stone to single payer and total FedGov control over everyone’s access to medical services, based on their notions of what is best for the common good.

“Yes, reforms are needed to keep health-care spending in check and to bring insurance coverage to more people.”
The ONLY appropriate reforms are those necessary to get the government completely OUT OF THE HEALTHCARE processes of the American people. There is NO reason for the government, at any level, to be involved with people’s health care.

How old are you?

You don’t remember when Nixon signed that into law, do you?

Before the government allowed employers to give pre-tax health insurance to people it was NOT common. I remember a doctor actually coming to our house when I was a kid to see all of us in the family (7 children)

CO-PAY was structure by the health insurance companies ONLY after government regulations made it the preferable way to do business. Otherwise no sane person in business would create such a system that remove price comparison shopping this way. The government made a list of federal payments they would pay for the welfare crowd, and businesses modeled theirs AFTER IT (this was Nixon and Johnson’s fault)

In the old days doctors accepted a ham, two dozen eggs for what now costs thousands.

When said doctor is sued, 'ham & eggs' will not be acceptable payment in the legal lottery.

Doctors must carry massive insurance policies because there is an entire industry built upon suing them.

I have a problem with this headline, and the premise of the piece.

They never SOLD Obamacare. They rammed it down our throats.

This is a general problem. For all of us history starts when we were 25.
