Insurers reportedly receiving faulty data from ObamaCare exchanges

Insurers say faulty data from ObamaCare marketplaces is straining their ability to handle even the first wave of consumers who were able to sign up for health insurance using federally run exchanges during the glitch-ridden rollout of the new law.

Executives at more than a dozen health insurance companies say they have received data from online marketplaces that is riddled with errors, including duplicate enrollments, missing data fields and spouses reported as children, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

"The longer this takes to resolve…the harder it will be to get people to [come back and] sign up," Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini told the newspaper. "It's not off to a great start," he said, adding, however, that he believes the marketplaces are "here to stay."

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Nebraska, which has about 50 ObamaCare enrollees, said it had to stop enrollments from coming through automatically and hire temporary workers to contact customers to fix inaccuracies in submissions, according to the report.

Joan Budden, a marketing executive at Michigan-based Priority Health, told the newspaper that staff are reaching out to new customers to make sure they are enrolled in the correct plans, after realizing that some had signed up for multiple plans.

The real problem with ObamaCare is its steadfast insistence to verify identities as a first priority, even for those who are just window shopping.

Far, far too much personal information is required which is then cross checked against every government data base available. Likely even filling up some of the currently empty fields in said databases.

In short, it is an information grab that isn’t intended for ‘health’; it is intended for identification and control, if necessary. It is a political tool.

So if you take this program and its real goals and couple it with inept program requirements definition, planning, management and micromanaging of substandard sub-contractors, you have an utter disaster.

We should overwhelm the system. Enter phony data from every Internet cafe and public library. Let them deal with it. Kill this tyranny now.

Duplicate enrollments...so there are even LESS than 34,000 people that signed up...and they said they needed 7 million or it will collapse...

Does the 50 Nebraska enrollees include all the multiple submissions by users?

The IT people have said as much, that the cross-checking up front is onerous and causes a lot of problems. But the fed requirements people insisted on it.

Clearly a data gathering tool.

The idea of creating fictitious applicants, and flooding the system, is just the kind of urban guerrilla tactics that ought to be applied to this bottom-feeding mechanism.

Same applicant, different states, using over and over the phony SS numbers employed by The Won himself. And his birthdate.

When several thousand similar applications show up, it will look like a viral attack on the website.

Then launch a REAL viral attack.

Impeach Obama for failing to execute his own stupid law. Then let the Rats defend him by explaining how the the law is unworkable.

I am an insurance agent. My loyalty is to my clients and I try to do what is best for them, under the law.

ALL of the Obamacare plans have PAPER APPLICATIONS available, but those paper applications do not qualify anyone for the tax credit or subsidy. A simple solution would be to allow paper applications for EVERYONE, if the applicant/insured/beneficiary/taxpayer is willing to claim the tax credit on the 2014 1040 tax return.

I really believe that, without Ted Cruz, the Obama Administration and Sebelius would have done EXACTLY THAT! But Cruz painted THEM into a corner, and now they refuse to do what is most obvious: BYPASS THE INTERNET for now!

How long will it be before the first insurance-evader is shot dead by the IRS? They have enough ammo for each of us.

So now it’s Ted Cruz’s fault? What color is the sky in your world?

HUH?
Please learn how to read.
YES it is Ted Cruz who painted Obama into a corner.
YES I am glad that Obama painted himself into a corner, with the help of Cruz.

You are a shallow person.

Yes, Cruz made obama and sebelius “deem” into law, develop, not test, and roll out this interweb turd - and presumably the exchanges rolled out by the various states. It’s all his fault that your loyalty is to the eaters and not the Constitution. Maybe it’s Bush’s fault, too while you’re at it.

Here’s the dumb@ss question of the day. Who the hell needs the exchanges when you can go directly to the Aetna to get a policy? Is it just to see if you qualify for subsidies? Why can’t there be a simple chart for the agencies to go by. The money is going to them anyway!
