WASHINGTON Congressional Republicans conceded defeat on Wednesday in their bitter budget fight with President Obama over the new health care law as the House and Senate approved last-minute legislation ending a disruptive 16-day government shutdown and extending federal borrowing power to avert a financial default with potentially worldwide economic repercussions.
With the Treasury Department warning that it could run out of money to pay national obligations within a day, the Senate voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday evening, 81 to 18, to approve a proposal hammered out by the chambers Republican and Democratic leaders after the House on Tuesday was unable to move forward with any resolution. The House followed suit a few hours later, voting 285 to 144 to approve the Senate plan, which would fund the government through Jan. 15 and raise the debt limit through Feb. 7.

83 republicans stand with the democrats and Obama. Name their names.
That is all.

The RINO is arguably worse for the deceit that results in inaction.
The RNC will never get another red cent of mine. What I am willing to give will go to proven conservative candidates, individually. If there isn’t one on my ballot, I don’t vote.
lol....okay, Peter King - I’ll go along with that one.
Its for the conference with the Senate
Ryan is one of the conferees..
6 names were called out..
was that Blackburn ??? Marsha Blackburn from TN
van halen ???
Mrs Chloe ??
That would make Obama a pure and full-on dictator and would mean it would become imperative for me to leave this country within the next 12 months.
My first thought too!
Ryan probably wants to add an amnesty amendment.
Ryan apparently still mistakenly believes he’s relevent. Somebody needs to buy him a aclue and tell him his career in politics outside the HOR house is over.
I’d bet you’re right.
Yeah Hastert, another real piece of work he was.
Thanks for the (highly appropriate) chuckle.
.
THIS!!!!!
I saw it
Wow, they missed D-day
D-day ‘Default-day’
We all are saved, for a while.
Now if only that Obama care site would come up I would be OK.
Disgusting as it may seem, it appears Boehner is getting a Hastert rule mulligan on this vote.
Thanks!
I agree, but what’s this inaction you speak of? The RINOs actively help the Dems.
Both in voting, and by rhetorically placating their conservative constituents.
“We don’t want to trade in a RINO for a dem.”
How does one tell the difference?
