Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said Wednesday he was disappointed that fellow Senate Republicans didnt unite with House Republicans to make the dismantling of ObamaCare part of any deal to end the Washington fiscal crisis, but vowed not to block a Senate proposal to end the stalemate and continue efforts to stop the health care law.
I have nothing to gain from delaying this vote by one or two days, said Cruz, who last month spoke 21 straight hours on the Senate floor in a filibuster-like attempt to defund ObamaCare.

For now.
The more Sarah P ages the hotter she gets.
He can delay one day and have the Obama arranged default blamed on him and Republicans, as well as the GOP surrender, or he can have just the GOP surrender. Not really a great set of choices.
time to reap the vote. take notes.
I have nothing to gain from delaying this vote by one or two days,
Spoken like a true self serving lawyer.
So the filibuster last month was just for publicity?
What a train wreck. Obama played these fools like a fiddle. In the end they were more concerned about reopening the monuments than stopping Obamacare. Idiots.
Yes, Ted is correct. The battle, though, has been enjoined. And the war against Obamugabe’s Death Panels has just begun.
The behavior of Obamugabe is NOT going unnoticed by America. He is incredibly unpopular.
Defund was a bad idea. Need to win 2014 and 2016 to truly get rid of this horrible law. Strength in numbers and we don’t have numbers. We have two MASSIVE roadblocks. Obama and Reid. Get rid of them, we win.
After the shutdown, you will find any inconvenience,
any disruption, any pain, laid by the media at the
feet of the Tea Party republicans. There will be
NO acclamations of “Bipartisanship”, no reaching
across the aisle, it’s not the way the socialists
work, no credit will be given at all to the opposition,
only blame. If anyone thinks this was rough and tumble
wait till you see what they do about immigration...
There is not yet the political momentum to turn this tide. Cruz made a bold charge ("Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Well it's not over now! Follow meeeeeee....") but found himself largely alone.
The holdout more firmly cemented the Obamacare shoes on the Democratic Party. Let them try swimming with those on for a while.
Self-serving?
What exactly were you doing that rose above what he did again?
And no, freeping polls and shaking your fist at the computer doesn’t count.
Wrong...blocking it means “default” and when a default didn’t happen the next day then the fear mongering would have been put to rest as far as the debt ceiling goes. Politicians are lying fools. I think the country is beyond being saved by switching which party controls the buraucracy. Soon you’ll be hearing how Hillary will be the end of the country so vote for (insert name here)for the block. No doubt everyone on this site will follow suit. Truth is, Cruz or Clinton. The trajectory won’t change.
At the risk of being pedantic-I was taught that it was the Japanese who bombed Pearl Harbor-the day that will live in infamy and all that...
“I shall return!”
Exactly. It’s a bad law. Even the public knows it’s a bad law. If we want to really get rid of it for good. We pound the horribleness of the law into voters head. Win 2014, win 2016 and we have a path to repeal.
You’ll never learn
Look up the quote to understand the reference...
Never learn? I learned to realize when there’s two roadblocks in the way, not to pretend like we have a chance. And then scream when we lose. Yeah I learned that.
