The research comes with caveats. It is based on climate models, huge computer programs that attempt to reproduce the physics of the climate system and forecast the future response to greenhouse gases. Though they are the best tools available, these models contain acknowledged problems, and no one is sure how accurate they will prove to be at peering many decades ahead.
The models show that unprecedented temperatures could be delayed by 20 to 25 years if there is a vigorous global effort to bring emissions under control. While that may not sound like many years, the scientists said the emissions cuts would buy critical time for nature and for human society to adapt, as well as for development of technologies that might help further reduce emissions.

Not a fan of heat and love winter.
Or they may not.
What do you think?
yet the news media is still screaming “global warming”
we've already had blizzards in n Dakota, Wyoming etc.
These guys are getting absolutely insane in their predictions, they see their religion falling apart.
The major catastrophe is always “30-35 years away.” At least that’s what I’ve noticed over the last 30 or 35 years...
Where was the article warning us about the disaster Obama.. lol
Aren’t we all supposed to be dead by now? The same people were making the same predictions in the 1980s, and the exact opposite predictions in the 70s. One thing is for sure, the Chicken Littles never seem to die.
“Coldest years may be warmer than the hottest’’<< I don’t think so, but I doubt it.
In 1970 when I was in the seventh grade we were told that by the year 2000 humans would be just about extinct because computers would have taken over everything.
The key words in all these scare article headlines is “MAY.”
None of them have the confidence in their models to say “WILL” or even to give a ‘percent chance’ such as the weather forecasters do.
Anyone can do “MAY” science. Here, let’s try it.
“The earth’s temperature MAY drop by 10 degrees in the next 50 years.” Wasn’t that easy?!
Didn’t some of the whackjobs state in 1990 that we only have 10 years to save the earth?? That was 23.5 years ago...
These climate models obviously don’t take into account the massive amount of evaporation and precipitation that would occur with just a few degrees of warming, which would result in a cooling effect, both in the hardscape of urban temperature islands and increased vegetation to consume CO2.
These are like the same idiots who think raising taxes raises revenue using a static scoring model.
Isn’t this the same cr@ap these guys were spouting about the earth being destroyed in 30 years, 30 years ago?Just a different ‘puter.
Are these the same guys that predicted the North Pole would be completely melted by this year?
“Are these the same guys that predicted the North Pole would be completely melted by this year?”
Yes
