Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) had what some colleagues called "a heated exchange" and what she described as "a conversation" with President Obama during a White House meeting Wednesday afternoon regarding the District's budget constraints as a result of the partial government shutdown.

The GOP should be listening intently, and pass legislation allowing these dem districts to remain functioning, except without Obamacare. Divide and conquer.

Hi SB - they already did it. The house passed a stand-a-long DC funding bill last week.
Perhaps the House leaders should invite the DC leaders to “walk the bill” funding DC over to the Senate, and they can stay in the gallery and watch Repubs try to introduce or watch Harry table it. Maybe for some of the DC crowd it will be an epiphany of sorts. Repubs willing to work with them and Harry not. Perhaps there will be some who will put Country before their skin color/ethnicity.

Obama was in the presence of one nasty animal when he was facing Eleanor Holmes Norton.
This will be THE weekend. If Obama makes a forceful move on the truckers and bikers, there will be a lot of tension. About time those feds not directly attached to this administration start thinking about the consequences.

Earlier in the day Harry Reid (stupidly) had a Dem Senator’s photo-op right next to a protest led by Norton and the DC mayor against the Senate Dems blocking the money . (I posted a link about it above).
That’s what made Obama give her a meeting... Bet he promised her the moon.
Holmes Norton best be prepared to be vilified by the press if she goes too far with the Chosen One.

Does Eleanor realize now that Obama never cared for her or her constituents, it was all an act to get their votes?
That would be a fracture.
