Runner fined $100 at Valley Forge amid shutdown

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. (AP) - A marathoner says he was fined $100 for running in Valley Forge National Historical Park during the government shutdown.

John Bell, 56, said he parked his car on Sunday in a remote parking lot, not one blocked by a barrier. Bell, of Chadds Ford, said two rangers were waiting with their car lights flashing when he returned.

He should have said he doesn’t carry ID while running.

Valley Forge is an extremely open park. Several well-used roads pass through it. The main hiking/jogging trail largely runs along the highway. More Spite House absurdity.

Call your House and Senate representatives and tell them to fix this ticket. Tell them that they will rue the day that the thugs minions gave you a ticket. Get a lawyer and make their lives miserable. Take down the names of the park rangers and keep tabs on them. Call the police when they do something illegal.
