The Monitor in McAllen (http://bit.ly/1huO8fh ) reported Sunday that County Commissioner David Garza said no federal money is spent on staffing, managing or maintaining the park. However, he was reluctant to question the federal authorities' decision.
"We don't want to get into a fight with the federal government at this time," he said.

sell it to the state for one dollar...period
Cowards like this at the state and local levels are why the federal government gets away with this nonsense.
Two Words:
Eminent & Domain
Obama is insane
no eminent domain against govt
It’s not a federal park but they do not question the orders?
messed up
Eminent Domain.....they should be filing it as we speak...The land owner isn’t maintaining the property.
If TOTUS can make new law, so can Governators.
Anyone local Freepers down there? Looks like a good day to visit the park.
Instead, take this bastard into local custody.
Boyd Blihovde, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s refuge manager at Laguna Atascosa, said he shuttered the park “following national policy.”
I sure hope that someone is making a big list. At the end of the day, there needs to be some serious payback. Make old Boyd move out of his neighborhood.
There may never be a better time...
Have they evicted the Fish and the Wildlife too?
Shutting down a park on the Texas border ? Hmmmmmmm. Wonder what will be coming through there.
County Commissioner Garza contacted Cornyn. Why didn’t he contact Cruz, too??
Pull a “People’s Park”. It’s fun, full of eye candy for the T.V. cameras, and everyone gets to dress up and act foolish, all while taking the park back!
The Cameron County Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park operates within the confines of the
Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge. Thus the Feds have control of the access roads, etc.

Stop and search any federal government employee traveling on the state highways around the park. I’m sure the local law enforcement can find probable cause. They have no right to be there.
Which is why marshall law will be easy to implement.
