Ted Cruz Smacks Down Candy Crowley for Saying 'It's Blackmail' to Offer Separate Funding Bills
Newsbusters ^ | October 6, 2013

CRUZ: But Candy, let me press back. It's twice you've said Harry Reid would say it's blackmail. And I want to press back, because I actually -- I think that's a false claim with no basis. The bill that the House passed on the VA simply funds the VA. It doesn't mention anything about Obamacare. It doesn't mention anything about anything else. Now, for hundreds of years, the way Congress is appropriated has been one topic at a time. How is it blackmail to say we think we should fund the veterans? Do you agree? That's a yes or no vote. Now Harry Reid refuses to let the Democrats vote on that. But how is it blackmail to say, we may not agree on everything but is there anything we can agree on? We ought to agree on supporting our veterans.

Like many of you, I’ve grown weary of hearing most of the pundits and politicians pussyfooting around this subject. With the exception of Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Mike Lee and a handful of others on the conservative side, none have come right out and said what every THINKING American KNOWS!

The fight over Obamacare is about stopping the unvetted, unqualified, narcissistic megalomaniacal former community organizer and tyrant in the White House from bringing about his “transformation of America”. That phrase was and is code among his dumbed down and/or uninformed supporters for creating a despotic Marxist redistributionist Utopia. That it has failed everywhere it has been attempted and left misery and death in its wake is of no concern to them. The magic Obama can make it finally work.

One element that may puzzle some of you is why more of the wealthy captains of industry and capitalists – who ostensibly have the most to lose – haven’t spoken out in opposition.

Two reasons (there may be more):
1. They believe they will be princes in the new order, their lives of wealth and ease little affected by the distress inflicted on the us down here, the mass of the great unwashed. They really should restudy the histories of those who collaborated with other tyrants who, once in firm control, dispatched those who had the resources and intellect to topple the new “king” once the inclination to do so took hold of them.
2. During the Cold War, the head of Citibank, one Walter Wriston, was asked why his New York based organization continued to provide financing to the tyrants running the Soviet Union and the slave states the USSR dominated. He replied that it made little difference to him what sort of government these nations had and his only concern was “Can they pay their bills?”

The WWII era Norwegians coined a real world name for those folks: Quisling.

-— She is literally the least insightful political “Talking head” I have seen in my lifetime -—

What about the gal on the All-Star panel who is so forgettable, I can’t remember her name. And I’ve watched the show for ten years.

She spouts conventional wisdom in the most tepid way.

Good ‘ol whatzername.

It makes you wonder why people such as Crowley become journalists.

Not at all.

Candy made her objectives clear when she moderated the second Romney/Obama debate.

That is the incident where she came out swinging to protect Obama with her "fact checking" falsehood disputing Romney's charge that Obama did not call the Benghazi kilings an act of terror.

Republicans are idiots for allowing known hard core leftists like Candy to moderate presidential campaign debates.

Agree! The other advantage is that Cruz stands on principles he understands and believes. He doesn’t let media twerps misrepresent the principle and he is quick to spot when they do and turn it on them.

You could hear her “snuffling” while he was talking and the camera was just on him. You know she was distressed by his answers and wanted to jump in.
Watching his face as she “framed “the questions was priceless.
Cruz was masterful-on point and he knows the target.

After her pro-’RAT debate fiasco, I didn’t think Crawley would still have a job.

Well said & couldn’t agree more. The Repubs know it's now or never to fight Soetoro and his minions -- Boehner not buckling finally gives Soetoro the perfect opportunity to show what a Pure Tyrant he is. There is no reason to default on paying the Govt's bills & the interest on the debt. So, if Soetoro does order the default, then he should be impeached forthwith under the "diminished capacity" article -- there is no other excuse for such depraved indifference to our Nation's survival except for blatant treason.

Reading the book “This Town: Two Parties and a Funeral” (really informative) and it really explains this “brand” phenomenon. These people look at themselves as “a brand” and focus on how people perceive that “brand”.

For instance, Candy does not care about the answer to her question. She is seeking affirmation from other “journalist”. The question is meant for the dinner party chatter. Just like the debate last year.
