Ted Cruz Smacks Down Candy Crowley for Saying 'It's Blackmail' to Offer Separate Funding Bills
Newsbusters ^ | October 6, 2013

CRUZ: But Candy, let me press back. It's twice you've said Harry Reid would say it's blackmail. And I want to press back, because I actually -- I think that's a false claim with no basis. The bill that the House passed on the VA simply funds the VA. It doesn't mention anything about Obamacare. It doesn't mention anything about anything else. Now, for hundreds of years, the way Congress is appropriated has been one topic at a time. How is it blackmail to say we think we should fund the veterans? Do you agree? That's a yes or no vote. Now Harry Reid refuses to let the Democrats vote on that. But how is it blackmail to say, we may not agree on everything but is there anything we can agree on? We ought to agree on supporting our veterans.

If only we had Sen Cruz INSTEAD of Romney debating Obama and this fat slob last year, he would have taken that “transcript” and shoved it up BOTH their a*ses!!!

-— If only we had Sen Cruz INSTEAD of Romney -—

Please stop. It’s too painful to contemplate.

I’ve said it before, but it never ceases to amaze me how Candy Crowley has managed to last this long as an analyst. She is literally the least insightful political “Talking head” I have seen in my lifetime (leaving aside obvious dilettantes like Meg McCain). Her analysis’ read like a high school freshman taking a social studies exam - simplistic, over-eager, and parroting other people’s facts without adding any individual interpretation of their own.

And why does she still have a job after her debate against Mitt Romney?

When you blackmail someone you threaten to expose information that the other party wants hidden.

What Cruz is very skillfully exposing is that the Marxists are trying to advance their agenda at the expense of the various groups of American citizens. And as long as the Marxists don't concede to the Republican bills, more of their self serving dishonesty will be exposed.

So yes, it actually is like blackmail.

If for no other reason I respect Ted Cruz for maintaining his composure while being interviewed by someone bearing the sensory equivalent of John Belushi wearing a wig.

Republicans should refuse to have people like Candy Crowley conduct presidential debates. Well known liberal activists like her should be, common sense, considered to be against republicans and everything they stand for. Why subject our candidates to someone who is plotting to diminish their standing?

One thing sets Cruz apart from other Republicans (among many other things) is that he doesn't take any crap, and when they attack him he hits back twice as hard.

Romney, Ryan, and most other Republicans would have dithered and offered some lame comment that meant nothing. Not Cruz -- he calls out every lie they throw at him!

Candy Crowley is fatter than ever and uglier than ever. I don’t see how she waddles up to the desk where she sits.

Cruz rules. He believes what he says. He understands how to be Ted Cruz. He can excite the base again and the fence sitters. We have to have a Ted Cruz run in 2016 or this once great nation is toast.
