Cindy Vinson and Tom Waschura are big believers in the Affordable Care Act. They vote independent and are proud to say they helped elect and re-elect President Barack Obama.

Yet, like many other Bay Area residents who pay for their own medical insurance, they were floored last week when they opened their bills.

Vinson, of San Jose, will pay $1,800 more a year for an individual policy, while Waschura, of Portola Valley, will cough up almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four.

In California, 1.9 million people buy plans on the open market, according to officials with Covered California, the state's new health insurance exchange. And many of them are steaming mad.

"Welcome to the club," said Robert Laszewksi, a prominent health care consultant and president of Health Policy and Strategy Associates in Virginia.

This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably. Trade has been a cornerstone of our growth and global development. But we will not be able to sustain this growth if it favors the few, and not the many. --Barack Hussein Obama

Cindy Vinson and Tom Waschura will continue to be staunch Dems, no doubt, but in secret. They will VOTE GOP.

but but but....those who did not have insurance will now have the opportunity to buy insurance or pay a stiff fine for not having it going forward!

“A new king arose over Egypt, who did not know”...nothing could more closely describe the plague let loose on this country Jan 20 2009. (this is the quote changed a bit in the movie Wall Street)

"I really don't like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family's pocket each year, that's otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy."

And there you go.

"I'm not against Obamacare," Waschura said. "It's just the initial shock. I'm holding out hope that there will be a correction over a handful of years."

you've made your bed, now lie in it

The "money-quote":

"Of course, I want people to have health care," Vinson said. "I just didn't realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally."

Those surpised....by any of the repurcussions of obamas plans...are seldom forthcoming enough to speak their minds.....to those of us who know what he is.

I see these disgruntled folk as being a part of the vast majority throughout the “bay area”...

God Save Us From The Regime.

Ahhh! That elusively fickle group of fart-sniffing egotists that like to have their ass kissed and talcum powdered by the media and foolish RINO candidates who think these people are open minded. Just like a Democrat, just like anyone connected with Government, just like the media, these people are outright liars and cannot be trusted under any circumstance. It is probably likely they are lying on this story too.

There will be a correction, all right. The premiums and deductibles will increase.

Classic example of the low information voter.

My bad...should have read further. Regardless, I still somehow think they’d be willing to stretch any blame for this over to the Republicans. Their past voting performance and general like for AFA dictate this.

Sure. We were gonna give 30 million people insurance and pay for it with pixie dust.

They vote independent and are proud to say they [voted to] pay $1,800 more a year for an individual policy [and] almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four, [respectively].

There, fixed it.

This article proves my point that the House is fighting the good fight...RINO’s in Senate keep saying to let Obamacare fall on its own..cowards.
People like these two in article are realizing the sticker shock of this mess & that its not free..with the medias help, people know who’s fighting this monstrosity & why there doing it. It’s a win-win in my opinion. The GOP chose perfect time to fight this, Ocare is a flop & at same time, people are getting letters canceling insurance, rate increases etc...
Will it sway these two “independents” to vote GOP anytime soon? maybe, maybe not..but some will.

Here's the money quote:

Idiot. Socialists are so amazingly generous when it comes to other people's money.

I guess to me the moniker “Independent” with respect to the last several Presidential elections has been one of believing these are people with a deep personality flaw that prevents them from revealing their true beliefs (Democrat/Progressive) so that they can be pampered and pandered by all those dumbass politicians and media that actual believe someone in such an election can still be ‘open-minded’ etc......it’s just pure BS.
