With the October 17 deadline to raise the debt limit rapidly approaching, President Obama is not specifically ruling out using the 14th Amendment to increase the nation's borrowing ability if the political impasse continues and Congress fails to do so, but says he does not expect the fight to get to that point.
"I'm pretty willing to bet that there are enough votes in the House of Representatives right now to make sure that the United States doesn't end up being a deadbeat. The only thing that's preventing that from happening is Speaker Boehner calling the vote," the president told The Associated Press in an interview Friday that was released this morning.

I wouldnt..he intends to do just that.He is seeing it slip away and has lost his mind. I have advised my congressman to invoke the 25th amendment and declare him unfit and remove him from office.

Good - this way the house can vote on impeachment instead of raising the debt ceiling.

It does say that the president has such power, but rather that the government must pay all debts.

May You live in Interesting Times (or as you paraphrased it, May We Live In Interesting Times)is purported to be a Chinese curse, the description at Wikipedia (Link Below)
Wikipedia:May You Live In Interesting Times
"Chinese curse" redirects here.
For Chinese-language profanity, see Mandarin Chinese profanity.
"May you live in interesting times", often referred to as the Chinese curse, is the purported translation of an ancient Chinese proverb and curse. However, no Chinese source has ever been found. [1]

I think that Chinese Christians would agree with me, however, that we don’t need to go looking for curses. They come looking for us. Will we be soldiers of the light and fight them (ministering blessings to counter the curses) or will we just curse curses, which is like trying to drown water.

The United States should be a deadbeat dad to a world of prostitute nations! Prevent illegitimacy and trade imbalances!

Dissect it however you wish, Ibryce.

Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void. Well, since arming the Moslem Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda is creating debt "in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States", we have no obligation to service that debt. Any borrowed funds expended in those activities are illegal and do not need to be repaid. If you are an arms merchant, supplying arms to the Islamic rebels in the middle east, using US funds, you're going to be up the creek without a paddle.

Your argument is concise and to the point.

My point was to the contrary. Neither sargeantdave nor myself went looking for curses. I'm quite positive that Sargeantdave's comment 'May We Live In Interesting Times' was conveyed with the best of intentions without the slightest ill-will or rancor.
Without knowing its precise connotation 'May You Live In Interesting Times' is easily interpreted as that of a message, intent of good will. People use it in that way but are not aware of what it actually means.
So, I felt compelled to send him a head's up.
