Glad I was scanning through yesterday's Canteen. The word "Tricare" grabbed me, as my late husband served in the USMC for 28 years, and trusted that Tricare would take care of my supplemental medical insurance, for the rest of my life.
"first patient in his Drs office today to be officially informed that the TRICARE no longer paid."
The following is a quote from the Army Times:
"Tricare beneficiaries should see little impact from implementation of the Affordable Care Act because the military health care system was excluded from the law and Congress later passed legislation defining Tricare as meeting the acts insurance coverage requirements."
Affordable Care Act: No impact on Tricare, but some coverage isn't equal (click here)
Does anybody here have any information on Tricare for Life in relation to the Budget or Obama(don't)Care (also known as Unaffordable Health Care Act)?

"Call your Drs office and find out"Heh. Wish I had one. All my doctors are in CA, where I recovered for three months after the accident.
Now, the problem is finding one HERE! :(

I tried to sneak in, but the boss said because it was the close of the quarter and close of the year and we’ve been having trouble posting the payroll....we were printing early!
Hope your Wednesday went well, beachy...((HUGS))

Good to hear you are still getting a little precipitation.
Maybe a little to soak in and help with the water table.

It should be good to go, Yorkie. I don’t think the 40 mile exclusion applies to TFL, just TriCare Prime. I’ll see what I can find out from my local insurance contacts.

Aww, no rattlin’ this ol’ gal, My!
TCFL is my supplement to Medicare - and it is supposed to pay for my prescriptions over $3.00 per RX. All I ever used to pay was $3.00.
But, now, since “O” came into office, the cost has almost doubled - it now costs $5.00. (And I only get one RX a month.)
But, since I must now find a Primary Care Physician here (and most are not taking new patients), it kinda scared me, that Tricare would not cover my doctor’s appointments as a supplement insurer.
I am pretty sure, that those of us on Medicare will be seeing signs on doctor’s doors real soon - “We no longer accept Medicare Patients”.

I see the signs already. We no longer accept Medicare Patients.
When I get there there will be nothing, after a lifetime of contributions starting at age 14.

And you have probably put into Social Security your whole life, too, My! It’s going to go the same way, I’m afraid.
