The former senior EPA adviser who stole $900,000 from taxpayers while posing as a CIA agent pleaded the Fifth on Tuesday morning shortly before House members expressed outrage upon learning that hes still due to get his government pension. John C. Beale invoked his right not to incriminate himself when facing questioning from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, just four days after he pleaded guilty to charges that could bring him three years in prison.Mr. Beale, do you have a statement? panel Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) asked during the hearing. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. No I do not, Beale

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
just more DC lawlessness ...
Beale has been taking 5th Amendment Down Low lessons from Lois Lerner. And she learned all she knows about it from Trey Gowdy who thoroughly schooled her back in the spring.
FROM STORY:
The hearing then took an even more bizarre turn when investigator Patrick Sullivan noted that Beale eventually filed retirement paperwork, and thus is due his government pension.
Both Republicans and Democrats on the panel called themselves dumbfounded by the news.
Still month after month the American taxpayers are going to pay Beale, said Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah). He said he wants to see EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy come before the committee to answer for why she didnt immediately fire Beale after becoming aware that he was receiving unearned bonuses and had stayed on the payroll even after holding a retirement party.
What does it take to actually get fired in this federal government? Chaffetz railed.
They maintain secret email accounts. Meanwhile the secret one you THOUGHT you had in fact is completely open —to them.
And they take the 5th. All this from the Most Transparent Administration in US History.
“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for”.
Very nice.
I’m shocked, shocked to find criminality in Washington DC.
Let's not forget the incestuous relationships, either. Mr. Beale's wife, Nancy Kete, is an executive at the Rockefeller Foundation, and is a big Obama supporter.
This slimeball should have every asset seized. His family should be thrown out onto the street.
The parasite class steals money from hard-working citizens.... It is truly an evil that should not go unpunished.
True justice would also involve some rope..but instead this slimeball will most certainly get his full pension...
Imagine the taxpayers working very hard, having to watch every penny spent, having much of it taken away by the likes of this parasite..
Our Republic is being destroyed by such evil parasites. They are truly an enemy of Liberty.
The day will come when serious blow back will occur -- It is my hope the parasite class is shown absolutely no mercy.
Well we knew when the Chicago mob came to town, what would happen.
And we’re only in year 5 of 8.
Ex-EPA official pleads guilty to theft; he also had claimed to work for CIA
September 27, 2013
A former high-level official at the Environmental Protection Agency admitted Friday that he stole nearly $900,000 from the government by pretending to work for the CIA in a plea agreement that raised questions about how top agency managers failed to detect the scheme since it began in 1994.
John C. Beale duped a series of supervisors, including top officials of the EPAs Office of Air and Radiation, disappearing from the office and explaining his absences by telling his bosses that he was doing top-secret work for the CIA and its directorate of operations.
He lied about contracting malaria (he didnt) while he served in Vietnam (all his military service was in the United States) to obtain a parking space reserved for the disabled that cost the EPA $8,000 over three years. He took personal trips to Los Angeles for which he charged the government more than $57,000, according to new court filings.
To our knowledge, prior to [current EPA Administrator] Gina McCarthy expressing her concerns, no one at EPA ever checked to see if Mr. Beale worked for the CIA, said Assistant Inspector General Patrick Sullivan, who led the investigation that included interviews of 40 people. Only one, an executive assistant, suspected Beales story of working for the clandestine service.
Nor did EPA personnel compare Beales travel vouchers, which said he was in places such as Boston and Seattle, with hotel receipts for the same dates that showed him in Bakersfield, Calif., where he has family.

Why the need to pretend he’s CIA?
Do you own property? The EPA are as powerful and can make you suffer more than the CIA ever can.
Also shows me there are fewer veterans running things in Washington than ever before. Vets would have plenty of paperwork if one of their people was borrowed by another agency. Would have also seen that that person’s background didn’t pass the smell test for the job.
Somebody is paying him. Even if he’s still on the EPA payroll, he still counts as an EPA employee. If the borrowing agency doesn’t pick up his tab then most vets would at least want the proper forms stating such. Also a contact at the CIA to verify what little they can tell about what he’s doing.
Imagine how many have got away with these scams in the past.
The government has already proven on many occasions they feel they have the right to pass Ex Post Facto laws so why on earth are they bitching?
They can pass a law today voiding ANY pension program for any level of crime our representatives choose as a threshold. However, they don’t want to because they would be putting their pension at risk.
Come on folks, we are nothing but cash cows to be milked for the ruling elites.
EPA? Don’t they have their own stormtroopers now?
Beale gave $500 to the Obama campaign in 2008:

Beale wrote a paer back in the 80’s. about working so hard for the EPA he called it “pizza at midnight”What a laugh.
