The mans Range Rover was surrounded by several bikers on the West Side Highway on Sunday. One biker apparently cut the driver off and slammed on the brakes just before the SUV bumped his rear tire. But when the driver stopped, several bikers began to damage his SUV. Cops are investigating.
A pack of bikers pummeled a driver in upper Manhattan on Sunday, after a wild chase that began with a fender bender on the West Side Highway, cops said.
The brawl erupted after the victim who was driving his wife and their young child became surrounded by a swarm of motorcycles on the highway and accidentally hit one of the bikes near W. 125th St. about 2 p.m., police said.

Watch the video. The MC was in the SUV's lane alongside him before he pulled in front of the SUV.
If you intentionlly slow as to cause an accident it is YOUR fault, not the guy that rear ends you.
Thanks for the tip...
It takes a real change in attitude to see things in that light and to implement such a tactic.
In “normal” times, I wouldn’t have any issues with bikers, I was one for many years, know what it’s about.
But these aren’t normal times and I guess it’s time to man up and see things for what they truly are...and decide to start acting on it.
Old habits (respecting bikers) are hard to break...
facts not in evidence (sorry its lawyerly speak I know) You do not know what happend before film I can posit scenarios that make the bikes into the good guy (not likely as many the decided to ride with out plates) or the bad guy (much easier really) but either is just conjecture.
What we do have is a group of bikes that DO not slow down but 1 that does after illegally passing, WHILE looking back for some reason then gets tapped by a auto.. that the bike easily could have avoided.
Good to see at least some accountability on this travesty:

Paging Joe Friday.
Sorry for the bikers family (in coma) he was in the wrong of coarse but still a hard thing to live with.
Sorry for the SUV driver that will forever have to know that he was forced to hurt some on like that, we can be bellicose and think “well I would have...” but that does not make the feeling of “I hurt some one a lot” just go away. I have family history on that issue.
Maybe some good will come of this, NYC “banned” the event which of course pretty useless as it was there is no way do really do so (they did not ask for a permit and any one can use the public roads.. at least for now)
“As MC rider slows nearly to a stop, he’s rear-ended by suv guy...Because MC guy slowed or even stopped did not give suv guy the right to rear end him..”
Biker charged with violation. SUV driver NOT charged with hitting biker. This is what happened, deal with it.
“facts not in evidence (sorry its lawyerly speak I know) You do not know what happend before film...”
In the absence of facts people tend to fill in potential scenarios based on their particular biases. A good example is the Zimmeraman case where certain groups envisioned Martin being hunted, and attacked to justify their hatred of Zim. Opinions based on incomplete videos are especially susceptible to this, like the Rodney King case.
The video gives us plenty of evidence to support the illegal actions of the bikers.
Even if the SUV cut them off or cussed at them prior to the video that does not justify the bikers actions.
race bikers...
“Even if the SUV cut them off or cussed at them prior to the video that does not justify the bikers actions.”
There are certain instances where the driver’s actions might justify the bikers trying to stop the driver. For example if he was trying to kill the bikers with his SUV without provocation. We have NO evidence of that, only of him trying to escape a pack assault on him and his family. Even IF his attack on the bikers was unprovoked it would have been wiser for the motorcyclists to get his Lic plate # and call the police.
I think if charges are filed against the SUV Driver, the video of his actions might help him in court. He had multiple occasions where he could have used his vehicle as a weapon and did not. He was clearly just trying to escape the pack.
A new update: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/01/new-york-man-celebrating-first-anniversary-with-wife-child-left-for-dead-after/
NYPD confirmed that there has been one arrest. Christopher Cruz, 28, was charged with reckless endangerment, menacing, reckless driving and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17.
One of the riders he ran over in his escape appears to be paralyzed. The SUV driver hasn’t been charged with anything. “He feared for his life and the lives of his wife and daughter, a police source told The Post.”
These guys are a bunch of jackasses.
More video prior to the incident. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=3cd_1380579664
I like the one where the dude is white-lining the opposing traffic lanes!
(Where are the cops?)
This is a classic case of being completely wrong on an issue, being called on it, and doubling down again, and again, and again in multiple threads.
Don’t know what dragnet2’s issue is here, but it’s divorced from reality.
yep
Kind of like 30" rims and twin 14" subwoofers on a car parked in the handicapped spot at the store while the young driver is in the store using his EBT card ?
