I agree. The CR did include a provision to fund military pay, I believe. It passed 423-0.

Does it really matter for whom we vote? In Israel, same problem. 1+1 is supposed to equal 2, and 2+1 is not supposed to equal 2, but it does.

I just got something in the mail about those exchanges. My employer does not offer me health coverage. I work for a temporary agency and they have me working for the same company for 11 months now. I am going to check all of my options and try to avoid buying health insurance. I am single with no kids. I really do not think that I need health insurance at this time. I was telling my mother(she is one of us)that maybe I will buy some health insurance before doing my taxes and once I get my refund cancel it. LOL!!!!! I must be an anarchist.

So why doesn’t CNN characterize the action of the Democratic senate as “ as a move that make government shutdown very likely”

The House should attach an amendment to every single bill mandating that *all* federal employees, current and former (except for the Armed Forces) are subject to every single part of Osama Obama Care with *no* subsidies.

Thanks BarnacleCenturion.
The decision to vote on the House amendments overnight emerged from a rare weekend GOP caucus meeting called by House Speaker John Boehner. The votes, taken after midnight, were 231-192 for the Obamacare delay, and 248-174 for the medical device tax repeal... Two Democrats broke rank and voted for the Obamacare delay: Mike McIntyre of North Carolina, and Jim Matheson of Iowa. Seventeen Democrats voted for the tax repeal. Meanwhile, a bill to guarantee pay for military personnel during any shutdown passed 423-0.
This vote was a referendum on Zerocare. The majority has spoken.

Good point. If Obamacare is a tax it is a revenue bill and should have had to originate in the House, right?

I’m not so sure. The effects of Obamacare will still be there even if a delay is passed, because employers will still be unwilling to invest, knowing that Obamacare is coming in another year. That’s why Obamacare has ALREADY been a disaster even though it’s not been implemented yet. The PROSPECT of it being implemented is killing our economy, and for as long as it seems like Obamacare will eventually go into effect, it will have that chilling and killing effect on our economy.
So I don’t think a delay would make this issue go away. Delaying it for one year means that the subject will come up again right before the midterm elections, and if conservatives sweep the mid-term elections we will have the votes to completely get rid of Obamacare. If our economy can last another year of this, and if there is still ANY integrity within the voting process. Neither of which is very certain, IMHO. But this is the scenario that conservatives might be looking at, and why they might want to delay Obamacare. I don’t know if the conservatives are on board with this plan or not, but this could be the reasoning if they are.

And why, instead of trying to negotiate was our “great leader” out on the golf course? I don’t believe any President with a conscience should have been on the golf course instead of working to keep things moving forward.
I called my senators and blasted them for not being in session today trying to solve this. Of course they are both Ds so they could care less what I think.
