Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) on Friday said that the Tea Party movement is just as dangerous for America as the Civil War.
“A small group of willful men and women who have a certain ideology about how our country should run and what we should do cannot get their way in a normal discourse and votes,” Harkin said. “Since they can’t get their way they’re going to create this confusion and discourse and hope the public is so mixed up in who to blame for this that perhaps they’ll blame both sides.”
“That is the path they see for taking over the government. It’s dangerous, very dangerous. … Every bit as dangerous as the break up and the Civil War.”
Harking made the comments as the Senate prepared to vote on continuing resolution that would fund the government past Sept 30. Democrats are moving to stip language from the bill that would defund President Obama's healthcare law.
Harkin said Republicans were throwing a “temper tantrum” and threatening to "take their marbles home" unless they get their way on ObamaCare, risking a government shutdown.....

Second, it's called the fu****g Constitution of the United States of America. You should read it sometime. It makes perfect sense.
So now it has come to this. The founding principles of the United States of America are some "certain ideology". The signers of the Declaration of Independence were barking in the wind, but that didn't stop them from doing the right thing.

It's not "taking over the government", the Democrats are already trying to do that through "fundamentally transforming". It's simply returning the government to its Constitutionally chartered limitations.
One thing he does have right (ya know, stopped clock, etc.), continuing down this path toward communism will result in another Civil War.
Democrats have become the intellectual successors to “Anti-Federalist party”, standing for centralized power at the expense of the states, and using force and threats of force to compel people to accept situations and conditions contrary to their personal better interests.
All in the interest of “helping”, doncha know.

That’s what democrats said about that dangerous new republican party in 1860 and why they forced the conflict to save slavery.
Today they say the same things about tea party conservatives as they attempt to reestablish slavery in this country by making all taxpayers into tax slaves.
Just as black slaves worked to support the non-working slave owners and their interests they now want us to work and then take the fruit of our labor from us to support the democrat party, its elite leadership and their non-working constituents.

When the government fears the people, things are shaping up.
They should be scared. For decades they have had a "Heads we win a lot. Tails we lose a little, or nothing." situation with the Republican Party.
