U.S. military personnel will face a disruption in pay if Congress doesn’t quickly pass a budget and raise the debt ceiling, President Barack Obama warned in his weekly address Saturday.
“The government will shut down. So will many services the American people will expect,” Obama said, speaking of the consequences he says the country will suffer if Congress can’t come to an agreement on a continuing resolution bill. “Military personnel, including those deployed overseas, won’t get their paychecks on time.”
On Friday, the House stripped funding for the president’s landmark healthcare law from a continuing resolution bill to fund the government. If Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid reinserts the funding when the bill reaches the Senate, which he most likely will, some Republicans have threatened filibuster it.

Congress just voted to raise the debt ceiling. The ball is in Harry Reid and Obama’s court.
They think that just because America elected them that we are all stupid.

Didn’t they install solar panels on the WH roof recently? And, of course, solar panel advocates know that the sun always shines 24/7 so they should have plenty of electricity. Of course if they wanted to make doubly sure they have electricity they could install some turbines on the WH lawn - Heaven knows there is plenty of hot air in DC to ensure they are operational 24/7.

Sadly, millions of Americans look at the medical insurance companies as big, evil corporations who need to be taken down. Welcome the Democrats and their promises of universal healthcare and doing away with the “big business” insurance companies. Exactly what the low info idiots want to hear.

Really? My Son in law hasn’t been paid for TWO MONTHS. They are living off savings and probably some credit. I hope his back pay is paid up before Obama shuts down pay for HIS military. If they don’t get paid, he owns it.

The first and most important duty of the federal government, according to the Constitution, is to defend the nation from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Naturally, that is the first thing the Leftist enemies of freedom find to cut, as they already have done in the sequester. Their most important duty is to get re-elected by giving out taxpayer-funded freebies to their voting base.
We’re on a runway train headed down a long neglected track and going like a bat out of hell toward a missing rail.
