I liked KHJ because they seemed to feature fewer ads and less DJ chatter. However, in spring of 1967, I discovered KWIZ, to which I listened almost exclusively. Broadcasting at 1480 kilocycles from Santa Ana’s Willowick Golf Course, KWIZ blasted Orange County and vicinity with oldies as well as a few newies. My brother, who was into the latest music, preferred KRLA.
Steely Dan - My Old School
