I just see no US strategic national security interests in being involved with Syria’s civil war and see many national security problems with arming AQ and Islamists. Assad has had those chemical weapons for decades and never has given them to terrorists to use against us or anyone else. If AQ and Islamists take over that country...all bets are off. They will have those weapons and all of the conventional weapons of a state! No thanks,
You think Assad is worse for us than the rebels?
Folks here are too young to recall when his daddy fostered Christian terrorists
Middle east defines nuance and murkiness
I say why interfere when your foes are fighting
Napoleon?
BTW....every time we help muzzies kill Christians..... the ingrates turn on us in time
Bosnia....Egypt.....Kosovo...
Have any of the panelists even mentioned what Pinetta and Gates said today?
You didn’t enjoy his sticking his thumb in zero’s eye from tim to time? Sorry, but I enjoyed it. I found it brilliant and hilarious, but I do not feel we have a dog in this hunt. Islamists killing each other is not something that we should interfere.
What did they say?
Didn't the state Dept. Have him dead, Injured in another country hiding or missing a few months back? He interviewed in Syria looking perfectly fine. He may lie, but obviously our own Government does as well.
And Assad called the U.S. The greatest country in the world... I'd like to hear that a little more from our own president!
I agree, wardaddy
If Assad goes, the vacuum will be filled by militant lunatics, as was the case in Egypt. Besides, if we insert ourselves every time Muslims come to blows, we’ll never leave the Middle East.
(I do LOL at the ferret comments, though.....)
They were at some conference today where they both plainly condemned 0bama’s performance on Syria.
You are a pathetic broken record..Sociopath, sociopath, blah blah blah..
What is certain is that if Assad is overthrown, there will be mass slaughtering of Christians.
My only concern is that the Christians of Syria are somehow protected.
Assad does not target Christians for slaughter, but that doesn't matter to you I suppose?
I pray daily for protection of the Christians in Syria.
that is pretty much anti fox drivel
The interview was a great piece. Dennis was very good and only allowed his super liberalism to peek out a time or two.
Have any of the panelists even mentioned what Pinetta and Gates said today?
Yes. And Krsuthammer said their remarks were devastating criticism.
Dr K called Obummer a narcissist.
“And Assad called the U.S. The greatest country in the world... I’d like to hear that a little more from our own president”
LOL....Obama can’t even bring himself to say THAT!!
He just might. I can well imagine 0 is having a conniption that “stupid” Baby Assad just looked vastly more intelligent than himself on FOXNEWS no less.
Really? I must've watched another interview. All I ever heard him say is he needed to see the evidence. Hearsay from the UN and obama administration's state run press is NOT "evidence." I know that may be disappointing to some here but "evidence" is rooted in truth. For example, he admits chemical weapons were used (a presumed fact). Where he disagrees is in who used them. You, the UN, nor obama have proof that Assad used them and when looking at his history as the leader of Syria he has NEVER used those weapons on his own people. Your position is "he has them so that means he used them." That's crap. We've had nukes longer than any other country and since WWII we've NEVER used them. Using your reasoning skills we have.
This is the United States of America and in this country Americans believe that people are innocent until proven guilty. Yes... Assad is guilty of a lot of things but I don't see or hear any evidence that proves, at this point, that Assad is guilty of using chemical weapons and as he said, when your military is advancing and winning why would you use chemical weapons? To me that's a good point
I tend to believe that al qaeda used them and is trying to frame the Assad regime and you have no evidence to prove otherwise.
must have took lesson off Obama then seeing as Obama is the ultimate liar
Iran and Russia are backing Assad and AQ is supporting the rebels. There are no good choices.
Obama has been a disaster in the region. He has distanced us from our relationship with Egypt, a long time ally who now is moving closer to Russia. Putin has become the power broker. Obama's failure to get a SOFA in Iraq has negated all of the blood and treasure the US invested in that country. Libya is in a state of anarchy and a safe harbor for AQ. We lack a coherent foreign policy for the region, which is a tinderbox.
Juan: More and more I am thinking Russia is backing Assad.
Syriasly.
