Other's have posted links to the correction, but here's the meat of it:

Aaron Alexis passed two background checks, bought shotgun from Sharpshooters in Lorton, Va.

Aaron Alexis passed Federal Bureau Investigation and Virginia state background checks to purchase a shotgun from Sharpshooters Small Arms Range in Lorton, Va., over the weekend.

Alexis did not attempt to purchase a rifle or handgun from the store, The Washington Times has learned exclusively.

The retail store put the former Navy reservist’s name through both systems checks before selling him a shotgun and shotgun shells, a source familiar with the investigation said.

The source characterized the amount of ammunition purchased as “not much.” Sharpshooters captured Alexis on an in-house security camera during the purchase.

Law enforcement took the video Monday to identify the shooter.

So, what is the basis for the claim by SeeBS that Alexis tried to buy an AR-15 but was denied by a state law. The assertion can be proven wrong on two points:

  1. The firearms dealer denies it.
  2. There is no such state law.

Why did SeeBS make up this assertion out of thin air?

They make up laws so that they may advance gun control. They will now push for laws that prohibit a person from out of state from purchasing a firearm.
