A US Navy commander told Monday how he saw a co-worker shot in the head just a few feet from him, during mass shooting on a Washington base that left at least 12 people dead.
Navy officer Tim Jirus told reporters the man from the Washington Navy Yard's maintenance department was felled by gunshots as workers scrambled out of buildings following reports of a shooter on the rampage.

CIVILIANS Guarded the Navy Yard??? You MUST be JOKING!!
It appears that the shooter may have recently broke up with his male room mate.......
It is part of the ‘privatization’ of government undertaken by Clinton and Bush.
Its just a way to undermine national security and expand the size of government through public/private partnerships.
I think all the victims are white.
I think he selectively targeted white people.
They said he was a Buddhist convert
Yeah, and “they” said that the Fort Hood mass shooting was “workplace violence”. And “they” said that the Benghazi battle was caused by a “video”. And that Breitbart died of a “heart attack” and had a “history” of heart problems (which turned out to be false).
I don’t trust what “they” said without more non-”they” evidence.
I noticed the male room mate thing. The male room mate said “he lived with me for three years”. No normal man would say that if he was sharing an apartment or house with another renter or regular room mate.
I will wait on some of this stuff. People have come out of the woodwork pretty quickly saying various things about him, and his bizarre family makes an awful, callous statement equating his death with the people he killed. I don’t trust his friends or family to tell the whole truth.
“I believe he probably used that as a cover for being muslim as it would not raise red flags.”
I think you may be onto something here.
They said he used an AR-15 also.
