Three shooters are involved in the Navy Yard shooting, a police spokeswoman said.

One of the shooters is “down,” police said, but two remain in a building on the grounds.

One of the shooters at large is dressed in fatigues. At least one has a long gun, police said.

That “gov’t gun “ thing brings up the question of how well controlled all that Homeland Security ammo and the guns that go with it are? In a Navy yard there would be rifles available at least to ship’s forces if not the Marine guard contingent. The rent-a-cops used for security on some bases wouldn’t have select fire rifles. Hope the shooter isn’t a sailor but the chance is there so far.

You may be absolutely correct on that point carriage_hill. The Boston Bombing took place in public and there were dozens of video clips from store security cameras. A shooting takes place in a critical US military installation and there’s nothing?
