Colorado Democrat Senate Majority Leader John Morse concedes.
Colorado Democrats need a new senate leader. History was made tonight in Colorado as Democrat Senate Majority Leader John Morse was recalled for abridging Coloradanss Second Amendment civil liberties. The tally is currently 52%-48%. According to Kelly Maher of Revealing Politics, Morse supporters need to beat us two to one in remaining ballots. Impossible.
Its the first wave of legislative battles planned by citizens angry at state lawmakers who denied them a vote on their Second Amendment rights. As it stands now State Senator Angela Giron is narrowly ahead of her recall.
Morse conceded around 11:30 eastern time.
Ive said this repeatedly: Colorado is ground zero for our gun rights. It is the litmus test for the country.
Heres the bottom line, said Kurt Bardella, president and CEO of Endeavor Strategic Communications, which is consulting with the groups seeking to oust Morse and Giron. What happens in one week will have significant implications for the overall debate on gun-control. Lawmakers at every level of government see Colorado as a bellwether as to whether they can risk pursuing a more aggressive gun-control agenda.
Maybe Morse can get a job with Michael Bloombergs anti-gun group. Colorado seems to be shifting from blue to purple.
Will develop with Giron results.
*UPDATE 1: Girons lead has flipped to a trail. 57%-43%
Un-freaking-believable. You actually pinged the boss to slap me down for making a comment about your spelling??
Wow.
I was referring to the Texas Speaker of the House, Joe Straus.
This is a big event in the political change taking place between the 2012 and 2014 elections. As I have stated previously, the R party is casting off conservatives and genuflecting before the President and the D party. Now they are being given a piece of strong evidence that what they read and hear inside the DC beltway may not represent the reality outside the beltway. The R party is running from conservatives who are growing in strength and popularity. The R party is running into an empty field and will have to scramble to catch up.
“...Were all with you even if we are not all from Colorado!..”
Today, we are ALL Coloradans...
“...set you off now...”
Doesn’t take much, brother...
THIS, and the the fact that Douchebags Weiner and Spitzer just got the Flying Middle Finger from New Yorkers... well, let’s just say I have a little more faith in my Fellow Americans today than I did a few days ago.
As Tiny Tim said “God bless us... Every one of us...”
My Dear Brother Boots:
This is an extraordinary day indeed...
Renews my faith in my Countrymen... even those guys in New York!!! (hahah!!) (And GOOD ON YA, New Yorkers, for tossing Weiner and Spitzer - those PUTZES- out on their asses).
“...and GYT to bloomberg...”
Yeah, there’s THAT too, ain’t there... Hahaha!!!
It was the “illiterate” charge, when you were stepping into a flame-fest you weren’t part of.
And then I apologized to the boss. And I apologize to you.
Sept. 11 is a hard day for me. “Angry” does not come close.
Sorry.
I had the self control to not rain on your parade last night but I cant forever.
This is the second term off year election period so things should be going wrong for Obama, AND those against his party (in GOP ) should be more motivated than those in his party(Dems) .
2005 to 2006 with GWB perfect example. Second term midterm blues.
All the GOP can do is f.. this up, otherwise its cake.
2015 ??
2017 ??
This is a really good sign. Colorado Springs is strongly conservative as a whole, but it has liberal neighborhoods and most of them are in the district John Morse used to represent. Faux moderate Hickenlooper better watch out.
Also, Angela Giron won’t be running for Congress now.
0 won Morses district by 21% in 2012.
He won Girons by 19%.
Morse defeated freshman incumbent Ed Jones, a Black Republican in 2006. Morse should’ve been a fluke win, as he almost lost in 2010 (with a Libertarian taking close to 5%), winning by just 340 votes. The Dems won 8 key seats in 2010 and 2012 by less than 10% of the vote.
Buck lost by 30,000 votes (which was a bit over 1 1/2%).
F him, asswipe.
I believe the only reason Obama hasn’t been WORSE than he’s been is because the populace is as armed as it is.
I didn't notice an ongoing exchange between yourself and others. Perhaps it got carried over from elsewhere. Didn't mean to intrude. My comment was really just meant to express surprise.
And then I apologized to the boss. And I apologize to you.
No hard feelings. We're cool. Thanks.
“...I had the self control to not rain on your parade last night but I cant forever....”
It is what it is, SOL... We STILL ousted two asswipe Dems. We still got to see Weiner and Spitzer humiliated... we STILL got to see a whole passel o’ bikers kicking sand on both the Mudslimes AND the DC asswipes who denied the permit.
It ain’t rainin’ on me parade yet, boyo...
“So proud of Colorado tonight!”
May one respectfully suggest that one not get his hopes up. Colorado is still filled with dark blue
self-proclaimed brilliant intellectual geniuses who go hard to port at the slightest breeze.
IMHO
WHOA! I’ve got to check that out, I’ve been carrying the wrong numbers around in my head for years.
Thanks so much for the heads up.
:)
Need a new one in the House too. Boner is deplorable.
