Once thought to be a sure bet for re-election, a new poll shows that Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has seen his support fall among South Carolina Republicans, as his three primary challengers begin their campaigns against him.
The poll, conducted by Landmark Communications and Rosetta Stone Communications, shows Graham at 42%, Lee Bright with 13%, Nancy Mace taking 10%, and Richard Cash at 7%. And though he fares better in head-to-head matchups against his primary challengers, Graham is still under 50%.
“These numbers should be of concern to the Graham campaign. The senator fails to reach 50% of the vote against any of his opponents,” said John Garst, president of Rosetta Stone Communications, in a release. “Graham does not break 40% among voters who think of themselves as evangelistic conservatives, and that group makes up 58% of the primary electorate.”

Pretty sure it’s Republicans that are killing us. Remember...the majority of the GOP House voted for Boner again. The GOP and its leadership stands for amnesty, funding Obamacare, and kicking off WW3. The leadership wouldn’t be in power a day longer if the majority of the party wasn’t ok with it. Guys like Cruz are the exception.

If no candidate receives at least 50% of the vote in the primary, a runoff will be held between
the top two vote-getters.
Voters who voted in a party’s primary, can vote only in the runoff of the same party. Voters
who did not vote in the primary, may vote in either party’s runoff.
The primary is for Democratic and Republican candidates only. Candidates running
unopposed for their Party’s nomination will not appear on primary ballots.
Voters may not vote in a political party’s runoff if they voted in another political party’s
primary. However, voters who did not vote in either politicial party’s primary may vote in
either politicial party’s runoff.
A defeated primary candidate may not actively offer or campaign as a write-in candidate for
the ensuing election. The use of posters or stickers on the ballot is not permitted. The voting
machine provides for a voter to write-in a candidate. Write-in votes are not allowed in primary
elections or the election of President or Vice-president.
While the state permits fusion (a candidate may be nominated by multiple parties), if
a candidate runs for and looses a primary (of any party), the candidate cannot appear on the
November ballot.
That’s a two way street
His run off opponent can get great publicity for free by pointing out the outrageous record of the unmarried childless Graham, and attacking the RNC in the press
Are the Dem primaries open too? Why can’t we get people to do the same thing to them?
Pack the field with candidates having strong, narrow appeal to specific Republican voting blocs and conserve resources via grassroots campaigning and micromarketing. Among these would also be a challenger or challengers with a broader appeal. Objective would be to peel off single-issue voters in order to deny a plurality. Prior to runoff election, by design, have these single-issue ringers pledge strong support to the leading challenger, then mobilize via established grassroots and micromarketing efforts to motivate their voters. Resources conserved then can be used to undermine and attack the incumbent relentlessly, on his record. That red-faced spittlefest of a few years back, calling opponents of amnesty “bigots” would be pure poison in SC. There are other examples with potential as well. McCain’s 2000 insult of the state is well-recalled, so that taint via association would be useful.

I can’t get it in my head how Graham’s $6 million-plus war chest can buy back the truth, of his career of undermining every significant opportunity where a conservative view could be advanced. What’s he going to say with that 6 mil? Whose vote can he buy?
Once in awhile he pops up and throws a conveniently timed bone to prop up his reelection, then burrows back under a rock with McCain and Ayotte to plot strategy that keeps some liberal hack, or the president’s agenda, or his Marxist nominees afloat.
Lindsay has gotten ahead of himself and become way, way too obvious with his disdain for conservatives and is actively trying to turn South Carolina blue, legislatively, apparently.
His votes are going to come from liberal Democrats, assuredly.
