Something 'very fishy' about this Syria thing [Vanity]
September 03, 2013 | GeorgeWashingtonsGhost

Posted on 09/03/2013 11:45:11 AM PDT by GeorgeWashingtonsGhost

I've got that same funny feeling about Obama's Syria threat that I've had during other events in recent months.

Right now we're seeing a highly visible 'public hearing' over the issue of Syria.. Why not another IRS scandal hearing, or Benghazi hearing or another hearing on the DOJ spying on Fox news? Obama and Congress seem to have whipped up a Syria hearing rather quickly, so what's the problem with doing so on these other issues? I smell a RAT!

Why does Obama want to start a war with Syria and possibly the entire region? What is the REAL reason for him doing this? I'm not sure, but I DO know that a military strike will bury just about every other news item for the next few weeks and I feel THAT is what this is all about.

In the next few weeks the Muslim Brotherhood will be on trial in Egypt. There's been talk that Obama is a Muslim Brotherhood MEMBER. Is THAT what Obama is trying to bury in the news? Or perhaps that Benghazi was a hostage-taking of Stevens planned by Hillary, so as to give Obama a reason to release the Blind Sheik to the MB? Why did McCain and Graham fly to Egypt to meet with the MB??? Was there a pay off made to keep them silent about Obama's involvement with them, or possibly his involvement in the 'hostage-taking gone bad' in Benghazi?

Something is very fishy about this Syria thing. Something's not right. Just as Obama called for Mubarak to step down for the MB to take his place, Obama is now asking Assad to step down for Al Qaeda to take his place?

We're looking at some serious 'wag the dog' here, folks. The GOP is on board with Obama although there is little to no evidence Assad is responsible for the chemical attack. We're being told there's no doubt chemical weapons were used, BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN ASSAD IS THE ONE WHO DISPERSED THEM!!! It is entirely possible that those (Al Qaeda) who rip the hearts out of their enemy and EAT them would kill their own to get Obama to fight their war for them!!!

Obama supporting the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is something NO CHRISTIAN PRESIDENT WOULD DO. The Muslim Brotherhood has torched numerous Coptic Christian churches to the ground and Obama has said NOTHING about this. The culprits are the ones he's funded and supported. Asking the man who has honored a peace treaty with Israel to STEP DOWN is something NO CHRISTIAN PRESIDENT WOULD DO.

Suddenly, we are expected to believe that Obama's motives are just for his desired action in Syria? Based on his FAILURES in Egypt, Libya and elsewhere.. Hell no, and HELL NO!!

We still have no reason to get involved. Especially on the side of Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood.

17 Anyone remember the Gulf of Tonkin incident in 1964, when N. Vietnamese Patrol boats allegedly attacked a USN intelligence gathering ship? LBJ used this supposed incident to get Congress’s approval to attack N. Vietnam. It turned out it never happened. But it led to 8 years of our involvement in Vietnam and 58K names on the Vietnam Memorial in Wash. D.C.

When this mess started last week I went to Wikipedia to refresh my memory on the GoT Incident because I thought it wreaked of a similar odor. The entry contained conflicting info but did specify that the incident (there were 2) occurred over 2 days. Apparently the 2nd incident didn't happen. Wiki has pictures of the NV PT boats attacking the U.S.S. Maddox in the 1st incident. Fog of war. Still wreakes after all these decades. 17

The British and the German and the French and the Israeli intelligence services have all said that Assad did it based on the information they have collected.

The consortium of Western Allies BANKERS (known to most of us as the FEDERAL RESERVE) which includes members from Britain, Germany, and France (not to mention other 'allies') are saying this because, THEY WANT THEIR DAMN GOLD BACK.

It's about the money. It's always about the money.

Why, after the 'rebels' overthrew Ghadaffi did they form a new NATIONAL LIBYAN BANK, rather than a new GOVERNMENT ?

My bad.

Ghadaffi could have sent the Gold anywhere he thought we couldn't invade. Mubarak was a sacrifice to find out that it wasn't Egypt.

Because it worked before, mass graves of Muslims in Serbia (that were empty), the Tonkin Gulf incident (that wasn't), the neutral passenger Lusitania (that was carrying munitions), it never ends.

don't forget the fake satellite photos, the fake dead babies, and the fake statistics prior to the first Gulf War.

Diversionary tactics all over again. Especially when you are beginning to see that our own government probably is complicit in this whole thing. Benghazi? I’ve got a war to fight. McCain and Graham need to be put in straight jackets and their mouths muzzled. WHY are they giving THIS president cover? We are asking the WRONG questions here.

And, is it me, or is anyone else also getting the same feeling that the GOPe is sticking their 3rd finger in the air at we conservatives. We need to make such a response that they understand that we are not just talking this time, that we have taken enough and are serious about a 3rd party RIGHT NOW. At some point, and it needs to be SOON, we have to act, quit talking and act. Enough of this equivocating. They are laughing all the way to the bank!

I strongly agree that there has to be something much, much bigger behind this Syria issue that a single CW attack, or even CW use in general. It is something that for some reason we dare not speak its name, and has to be disguised with all manner of diversionary and alternative excuses. Bogus on their face. The effect is sort of like black hole, invisible and undetectable except for the gravitational effects it has on other bodies.

What could it be? I find it simply unpersuasive that this is just political “wag the dog” theater to distract form US domestic issues. There are too many foreign governments on edge as well about whatever this thing is. The Republican leadership is being prompted to fall in line behind this overwhelmingly unpopular threat of US military action. There has to be some REAL threat to international peace and stability and US national interests at stake to justify this level of war preparation, not to mention the costly effort already under way to “regime change” Syria.

My hunch: China. In the nuclear age, head-to-head confrontations (or even the appearance thereof) between superpowers has to be avoided at all costs. So everyone ties themselves up in a pretzel knot of lies and diversions to hide the fact such might be the case. The world would just go nuts otherwise.

Indeed, a persuasive case has been made that the reason GW Bush concocted the WMD thing as a pretext for invading Iraq in 2003 was to avoid mentioning the real reason for that action. That was to block what would certainly be Chinese occupation of several massive oil fields in Iraq under Saddam-era concessions as soon as UN sanctions would have been lifted at the end of 2003, hence running afoul of the Carter Doctrine. You can look it up: http://www.amazon.com/Oil-Card-Economic-Warfare-Century/dp/097779539X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199719101&sr=8-1

The Chinese have been hell bent on establishing client state relationships around the world, especially in the Middle East and North Africa and where there are oil or other resources. Syria doesn’t have (much) oil, but it’s in the right neighborhood and it is one of the few really strategic places left where the Chinese have much of a chance to make headway in this quest. Note that all of its other would-be clients in that region have one way or another been removed from the order of battle by the US inspired and led Arab Spring movement or other disruptive intervention.

Prime among those was Libya, where NATO held up its bombing campaign for several days to allow a massive evacuation of some 36,000 Chinese nationals including the huge crew from Huwai that was rebuilding Muamar’s communications infrastructure (hint: that’s strategic business). Sudan, China’s first client in that zone, has been crippled and split with a Western-backed civil war. Egypt, another likely China friend target, was taken off the boards with Mubarak’s removal. Yemen is a continuing basket case. Iran remains in the global doghouse, in part for doing bidness with the wrong people (China).

You don’t hear much about China in Syria. Beijing has no doubt redoubled its efforts to stay below the radar screen this time. But consider this: in 2007 the Israeli air force bombed a suspected nuclear weapons development site in Syria. It was suspected of having been built with Chinese and N Korean (i.e., more Chinese) hardware. Syrian and China kept mum about the disaster. A few months later the Chinese announced plans to build a 100,000 b/d oil refinery on or near the site. China is now Syria’s largest trade partner (maybe no big deal in itself) but who knows what else they are collaborating on since Assad’s visit to Beijing in 2004. (BTW, news today was that Beijing will host a visit from Assad’s envoy Sep 5.)

Now consider the effects of a nuclear-armed Syria, with the region’s largest army, sitting next door to Turkey, Israel, Iraq and a stone’s throw from Saudi Arabia. Allied with Iran and fronting for the Chinese, with their longstanding benefactors the Russians running interference, Syria would be a North Korea on steroids, sitting smack dab in the middle of things.

Thus, there has been an all-out effort over the past several years to derail that development and now that time is running short and things have gone badly for the West, the project has to be escalated.

All this is just to offer some explanation of events, explain why otherwise sane and responsible people might be doing crazy things on the flimsiest of nominal excuses, and can’t bring themselves to say what’s really going on.

That stakes, however, could indeed be very, very high.

There have been reports that members of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt:

- Have evidence that Obama ordered/coordinated the attack on the Benghazi consulate

- That Obama is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

If either of these have any credibility whatsoever, it is possible that Obama is being blackmailed to support the Muslim extremists (MB or AQ) in Syria.

But even if this isn’t the case, I agree with you that something is real fishy here.

Wow. I'm trying to digest your comments. Perhaps 0bama's long delay with the strike is to give China time to extract their personnel out of Syria? A 'nice' bombing, if you will.

Hmmmm.. The only problem is, I don't see 0bama doing anything that's really in OUR best interest (unless you're Muslim, of course). So, it's in the best interest of Islam, for starters. Could be about gold or oil, but it could be that 0bama has been blackmailed into finding a country for MB/AQ to manage since the Egypt gig failed.

“...it is possible that Obama is being blackmailed to support the Muslim extremists (MB or AQ) in Syria.”

Come on kidd, Obama doesn't need to be blackmailed to support the Bros or AQ anywhere they are. It is what he came to power to do. Remember, the name of his book is “Dreams FROM My Father”. What were the father's dreams that were passed to the son?

The father had two main dreams, one was to destroy the US economy such that the US would no longer be able to protect the capitalist West, once accomplished his second dream was then in reach. Dream 2 was to establish a world-wide communist muslim caliphate. Obama, obviously shares his fathers dreams so make no mistake about it, Obama wanted to be president for two reasons, one of course was the perks but two was to finally start to make his fathers dream come true.

So no, Obama does not need to be blackmailed to support Islamic extremists or to try to destroy the US and her economy from the inside. And for the average obama supporter/no info voter, that is a resume enhancer. There is a large fifth column operating in the US, Obama is just the tip of the iceberg.

My pet theory is Syria is the prelude to confiscating or destroying Iran’s ability to make nuclear weapons. I think the memo is out that Iran is very close and it will be a great deal easier for Israel to defend itself if Syria doesn’t have a functioning army and government when the screws are put to Iran.

I just posted a similar thread with similar questions.

I agree with your comments/theories about Benghazi. There was much more to that than what was being reported. The lid still has not blown off that one, but every so often it seems like it might. Unless we get some new, bigger distraction.

Juan McLame was on Leno last week. You can find it on hulu or youtube. All of Leno’s questions were rehearsed and expected, including a couple of pretend “tough” questions, so it wouldn’t look like he was just lobbing softballs. I believe much of it was done to “educate” the public about the “correct” view to have about the current situation.

Watch carefully. I think there are “tells” when McLame is lying or putting out propaganda. Listen carefully. Not all of his answers make sense.

But there’s more to this. Obama had to know this would be unpopular with his base. He’s going on full out assault this week to make the case; since he’s a chronic liar, nobody trusts him. Did he anticipate such resistance? Does his narcissism prevent him from seeing that no one’s buying it? He seems desperate to do this, moreso than other pet projects. Desperate to bomb? No, something’s wrong here. It doesn’t make sense. And it’s true that he doesn’t need to be bribed to support the Muslim Brotherhood. Something stinks.
