He received standing ovations when he called for abolishing the Internal Revenue Service and repealing the federal health care law.
Cruz, Rubio, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Texas Gov. Rick Perry all made speeches to the group and got the most enthusiastic responses when they sounded anti-Washington themes.
While the 2016 election is more than three years away, Tucker and other activists said its not too soon to size up which candidate can run against what Tucker expects to be a Hillary Clinton Democratic candidacy.

We need somebody who is savvy to the media and doesn’t have to measure his words. Cruz is light years ahead of Perry - the media would make what they did to Palin look like a love fest compared to what they will do to him. He simply is not as intelligent as Cruz.
You would suggest another one of those "WHO CAN WIN" like Mitt Romney or John MeCain?

I have no idea if Cruz can ever be elected president or not. But it is so...damned...refreshing to see someone saying what he honestly, truly believes rather than spouting whatever his handlers say the focus groups are buying into.

I liked Perry going into the 2012 campaign and hoped he would set the country on fire.
Now they say it was partly his back, etc.
I still like the guy a lot—shoot a coyote while jogging in town? come on, I’d vote for him just for that!—but he seems to have Bushitis when it comes to expressing himself...
I meant no real offense to Perry and none at all to God Bless Texas, no way no how....
