Cruz, one of four potential 2016 presidential candidates to speak to the two-day gathering, got by far the most enthusiastic response from the limited-government, free-market group.
He received standing ovations when he called for abolishing the Internal Revenue Service and repealing the federal health care law.
Cruz, Rubio, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Texas Gov. Rick Perry all made speeches to the group and got the most enthusiastic responses when they sounded anti-Washington themes.
While the 2016 election is more than three years away, Tucker and other activists said its not too soon to size up which candidate can run against what Tucker expects to be a Hillary Clinton Democratic candidacy.

Go, Cruz, GO!! FUMR!!
Cruz doesn’t have to check with his publicists or advisors to find out what his position on any subject might be. Cruz is a dyed in the wool Reagan Conservative. He is the closest thing to Reagan I have seen since 1988.
Everyone else on that speaker list is a lightweight when compared to Cruz.
Two out of the four are already finished before they even start.
Rubio is out.
Perry is out.
Ninety nine percent of conservatives can beat Hitlery but RINOs the Pravda media and conservatives eating their own will not let the 99% win. Find a candidate you can agree with most of the time and go with it. No one person is perfect but every conservative but Rubio. I would vote for.
Bs bs bs. No conservative can “win” because Big Media, the democrats and and the republicans join forces to kill them.
Perry/Cruz 2016.
Ticket doesn’t work.
Guess why.
Perry is already done. Sorry.
TX/TX

Cruz = Good
Jindal, Perry, Rubio = Bad, for those uninformed
We need a candidate who can win. Someone bipartisan, from the northeast like Chris Christie! /sarc
Well said, Sir.

Someone might want to post it as a seperate thread...
Rick Perry says that Ted Cruz is heartless.
Actually Perry had three things to say about Cruz, that he is heartless, that he is ruthless, and that he is...um..wait now...the third...the third one...the third one was...
Perry, Palin, Cruz have Jim’s ok as potential candidates. (He’s very high on Cruz as are most of us.) I can cite it for you if need be. Also, his caution not to tear down someone because they aren’t “your one and only”, to paraphrase.
Then along come the usual, to evidence that they can’t say hurray for x without saying that y or z is BAD.
Well, yes they can, they just simply refuse.
Have learned nothing from past, bitter experience.
And a word to the unwise: listing Perry with Jindal and Rubio - or any others that few of us can stomach for overwhelming reasons, such as Rubio - does not fool anyone but the ignorant.
That is done to propagandize against, not to inform.
Now THAT was funny!
The four of them were mentioned in the article.
