Erdogan: Syrian Strike Should Topple Assad

Limited strikes in Syria are not enough, declares Turkey's Prime Minister as the U.S. mulls action in Syria.

The goal of any military intervention in Syria should be to topple Bashar Al-Assad’s regime, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday.

Erdogan said that the limited strikes which the United States is reportedly planning against Syria would not be enough and pushed for a broader military offensive.

"A limited operation cannot be satisfactory for us," he was quoted as saying by the NTV news channel.

"An intervention akin to that decided for Kosovo must be launched. An operation of one or two days will not be enough. The goal should be to force the regime out," declared Erdogan.

His comments came as President Barack Obama reiterated that he has not made a final decision about a military strike against Syria, but added he is considering a limited action in response to a chemical weapons attack that he says Syria's government carried out last week.

Let Erdogan use his own military and own money to take out Assad. Not our money, our military, our efforts. I love how he tells us what we must do. Luckily Obama is a wuss and won’t do any of what Erdogan wants. Buzz off, Recep.

It is all about the Caliphate. The secular leaders who would oppose Sharia law are being systematically deposed (Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Syria) and replaced with fundamentalists who would support the Caliphate. This will be Obama's legacy.

The Ottoman Empire was not the Caliphate, but one way or another we are restoring the Ottoman Empire.

Do a google on who Obama spends most of his phone time with and you will find it is with someone in Turkey. Turkey is also getting a bunch of new jets thanks to Obama.

He's already helping them and doing their bidding

The Turks kept the Arabs in line for 1000 years.

Maybe there’s an opportunity here.

One of my favorite moments of the Ben Ghazi hearings was when Rand Paul asked then-Waitress of State Hitlery Clinton about Obama running weapons from Libya through Turkey to the Syrian "rebels". Her response was classic..."T-T-Turkey???"

Here. Watch for yourself.

Yep. He’s in a battle with his buddy Iran right now too. Every greedy potentate wants a piece of that pie.

Waiting for the right minute are the Gulen charter school Turkish ‘teachers. The largest charter chain in the US. The Caliphate extended to the US. (P)Gulen resides in Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Calls the game from there.

Since Erdogan is the Mahdi’s main ally and controller in this mess, what Erdogan says here is vital. It means that, if the Mahdi gets his way, he’ll launch a series of ineffectual pin prick strikes that fail and use that very failure as leverage to get authority to launch a full scale war on behalf of AQ and MB. Then AQ, after AQ and the MB win the war with the Mahdi’s help, will get control of Syria’s chemical weapons and be able to use them in a suitable place, like NYC.

An opportunity to set up the next superpower who controls all the oil ? That's no opportunity it is setting up the last gentile kingdom that Daniel saw in his vision.

If you call attacking Christendom relentlessly until the battle at the gates of Vienna "in line."

The Ottomans are also a prime reason the Balkans are such an intractable mess of mixed religions.

Incredible answer! Never heard that question before so direct it to someone else? I get the feeling that she is just trying to throw up barrage of deceptions. Very frustrating and she is ahead of the pack of democrats presidential candidates.

Fond as I am of Turkey and the Turkish people, I see no reason why we should let them decide our policy towards Syria. If Erdogan doesn't like Assad, let him settle it himself.

Well, yes, you both make good points.

I suppose, in a perfect world, we could devise a plan to crush the infidel Turk and rule his former Arab provinces, perhaps even doing their muslim vassals the great favor of converting them to Christianity.

OK. We tried that.

The result of forcing the withdrawal of the Caliph and Sykes-Picot has been very bad. There seemingly is no strategic plan to make it better.

Some peoples are meant to be ruled. The Arabs are certainly in the top three.

We are not going to do it. The infidel Turk has a good track record at the job.

Of course, a restoration of the Caliphate at Istanbul would require strong deterrence and relocation of Western Muslims to their ancestral homes, but, really - what’s your plan?
