I remember during Operation Iraqi Freedom, as the U.S. Army was occupying Baghdad Airport, there were calls for a march on the Airport by demonstrators from Baghdad. The assembly point was distributed and publicized. Two hours before the announced assembly time, a U.S. bomber dropped a 500 pound bomb dead center of the assembly point. The rally was canceled due to lack of interest.

Because it’s not a surprise. The purpose of Obama setting a red line was so that he could say it was violated and become a war time President like his predecessors. To his followers that should make them understand. To his opponents, Obama is doing the right thing like the Bushes. The red line was but a trip wire for military action. Totally unnecessary for any other purpose.
