WWII veteran Delbert Belton survived being wounded in action during the Battle of Okinawa only to be beaten and left for dead by two teens at the Eagles Lodge in Spokane on Wednesday evening.
Belton, 89, died from the injuries he suffered in the beating Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Medical Center. . .
"Shorty," as he was known by his friends at the Eagles Lodge, served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during WWII and was shot in the leg during the Battle of Okinawa. He went on to work at Kaiser Aluminum at the company's Trentwood plant for more than 30 years.
He loved playing pool, even though he claimed he was no good at it and had been a member of the Eagles Lodge for the last four months. In addition to playing pool he loved working on cars. . .
Spokane police are looking for two male suspects in the attack. They said the suspects are African Americans between 16 and 19 years old. . .

Obama has been the most divisive and destructive president ever, and I even read a liberal saying that in the press a couple of days ago.
He has delegitimized decent black people and celebrated the worst elements of the black population (it’s not a “community,” and calling that dignifies it too much). He invites criminal, violent, racist, misogynist “rap artists” to the White House, fawns over them, and presents them as spokesmen for all blacks. Any black person who is decent and just wants to be a human being is condemned as being not “really black,” and since now the only important thing in the US is to be black or gay and/or Muslim, condemning them excludes their voices from consideration and also makes them targets for black political pressure.
Also, the gang thing has got to stop. I recall seeing a photo of Obama, wannabe ghetto black, making a gang sign to a rapper at some White House event. The press thought it was very cute. Meanwhile, the black kids of whom he considers himself the possible father are looking at this and figuring it’s cool to kill, especially cool to kill remorselessly and for no reason, and especially to kill weak or unsuspecting representatives of the eeevil white oppressor that Obama has created in their minds.

I live in Longview, WA. We have ‘refugees’ from Portland, OR, who have moved here to escape from the craziness that is the Peoples Republic of Portland, just up the river.

Spot on! I’ve been saying the same thing for months. Obama will occasionally criticize the thug culture but make no mistake, he’s also embraced it. This is irrefutable. Will someone post some photos of Obama with the human scum he’s posed with? His daughters actually listened to Snoop when they were preteens. Just look up the lyrics.
Understand - but “Zimmerman” is more recognizable - maybe Zimmerman’s name should head the list of ‘victims of the bored’?

I know what you mean, and don’t mean this to be an attack on you, but I have to ask: How long do we have to keep starting our thoughts with an expression of how we don’t care about color? We, and I have been guilty of this in the past too, have become conditioned when these attacks happened to have to start by saying how we aren’t saying what we say because of color...but only when the perp involved is of a certain color do we have to say that. If a white guy commits a crime, no one starts their comments this way.
I wont start that way anymore, and I encourage you to consider stopping. I personally care about color when people of one color are preying on people of my color. Especially when talking heads that supposedly are on our side keep running out and trying to blame every thing in the world such as if he parents were involved or video games or whatever, to avoid saying what is crystal clear: We have a black problem.
Are there are exceptions? Sure. But to paraphrase a line from Mr. Gump, Blacks is as blacks do. They commit crime at a 6 to 1 rate, and then fall in line in the 90th percentile behind their leaders like Obama, Sharpton and Jackson who push and accept any excuse for their animal behavior. They tell the sheep either someone used words that are forbidden, or “disrespected” someone, or looked at someone wrong, and whatever the black reaction is justified.
Again, I don’t mean it as an attack on you. Its taken me a while to get to this point. But I would encourage you to start caring about color, specifically how many times people of this color do things like this only to have it excused as “circumstances beyond their control”.

But as we rule out race, gender and age...can we please rule out “it’s due to a bad childhood, parents and lack of love”.
I know lots of folks that had a crappy childhood, crummy or absent parents and probably didn’t “feel the love”.
They didn’t descend into animalistic behavior.
Personal responsibility is a lost art...they do these things because they are morally depraved.

Oh, I agree from the standpoint of the individual, known plenty of people that as you said, had lousy upbringings and still turned out as great people. Personal responsibility is always the bottom line.
But we can also not be blind to the fact that some cultures are just superior to others due to their values and characteristics. Black American culture is, in large part, rotten because its been built around victim-hood, and allowed itself to become completely in bed with hip hop culture, which is completely and totally rotten. White culture simply has better values and thus has better results.
This is NOT the same as saying that there aren’t any cultures that are different from white culture that aren’t good, albeit different. Asians are a good example. They have a different way of doing things to be sure, but the ethics, specifically the work ethic and family structure is still there. Its different, but not inferior. Indians (dot, not feather) are another that I’d put in this category. I certainly don’t completely understand it all, but I know this: You don’t see them on eternal welfare and they come here with very little and manage to do fine and succeed in business because they are willing to work.
Oh absolutely, the hyphenated American thing is trash, I refuse to use it.
But the bigger problem is that these people have allowed themselves to excuse their deviants from standards of common decency IF they can allege racism. They have allowed their culture to accept things that just aren’t true with decent people. I would bet a nickel that when they catch these vermin, they’ll try to claim that the old guy used the N-word, and the sad thing is that a lot of blacks will accept that as justification...because that is considered a justification for ANYTHING.
Lets be honest. None of us (I don’t think) really know this guy. I doubt this, but the possibility exists that He could have been a jerk that was rude and offensive. But there is a check in our culture that says that no matter how rude a guy like this was, you let it go because he’s 90 damn years old. If He was black, and I see him on the street, He could be wearing the Bruce Willis die hard sandwich board that says “I hate 6’ 7” honkys” and I would let it go because he was an old man and my culture says you let anything he does go unless its threatening life and limb.
But their culture does not, and its becoming worse and worse because their thugs are figuring out that they can do anything, kill anyone, then claim racism and get a sympathetic ear from their community. So if you have a situation where one group can do ANYTHING to another group and get excused for it, I don’t see how the two groups can co-exist. And they aren’t giving up that race card.
